You gotta love the impact on case processing times since the USCIS switched to a risk-based approach last March/April. As of today's update, the EAC (Vermont) processing time has now jumped to 16.5 months (that's a >50% bump since the spring).

In roughly 3 weeks we will be submitting our N400 hoping it will push things along faster.

Hi everyone! It's been a whiiiile since I posted here - I finally have a date for my interview for citizenship (in 45 days). We don't have a birth certificate of my spouse (US citizen by birth), been lost somewhere at his parents house. And we've always been able to submit his travel passport instead (K1, conditional residency, removal and the original citizen application). Now, in my notice about the interview, it only mentions his birth certificate that's a good proof of his citizenship. Has anyone had experience using their US spouse passport at the interview?

Thanks!

N400 interview postponed

Has this ever happened to someone? I know it is normal to postpone an interview but mine sounds a little bit weird for Me so I just want to find out if anyone had experienced the same situation.

My N400 is scheduled for 1pm today, so at 9am, I got a call from

someone saying he works for USCIS and that I have an interview at 1pm, I confirmed with him

and he later said that unfortunately My interview will be rescheduled due to the fact that My file has not yet arrived. I was wondering why it took them up to 4 hours before the initial interview in order to contact Me and also I was wondering why My status has not changed on USCIS and also if someone has had this happen to them, how long did it take to get your interview and will it be the same 4-5 weeks span before next interview or is it going to be a shorter wait time once new letter arrives? Thank you for your time.
