AOS and Public Charge rule(Credit Card Debt )

Hello.

I am finalizing my concurrent filing of I-130 and I-485 after I got married with my green card holder wife. My question is regarding the public charge rule. I am an asylum applicant myself and me an my wife makes $65000 annually and both of us are insured. I have a job at very reputable company in US(one of the top 3) but last year I had to take care of my family of 6 alone since they were also without employment. Luckily, they are granted Asylee status but my case is still pending for its initial interview.

My question is I have a car loan and $17.000 credit card debt occurred during my support for my family. I did not skip any payment so none of them were past due. However, my credit score is at 570s.

It has been very hard for me last year but I never thought this rule would affect me.

I am hesitant about this rule and seeking your advice.

This is what they wrote.

"submit a completed and signed form i864 afidavit of support for the petioning sponsor listed on form i130 or form i129f. Also, provide copies of the petitioning sponsor's most recent federal income tax returns and all supporting tax documents (w2s, 1099, for 2555, and tax schedules)

I thought tax return transcripts were sufficient?

Also, I am so confused about what to put on lines 24.a. (b. and c.)

"my total income (adjusted gross income on IRS fir 1040EZ) as reported on my federal income tax returns for the most recent three years was:

Do they want total income or "adjusted gross income"? Aren't these two different things? Also where do you find the correct number amount to put here?

Like I said its for an RFIE so don't want to mess it up again!

If someone could break this down for me, I wish there was a book called "Applying for Green Card for Dummies" lol

Thanks for your help! I hope!

Hi everyone - my husband just got his EAD from AOS and will soon begin his job hunt. Would it be better for him to leave a two-year gap in his resum or list a job he's been working that's not relevant to his field?

For context, he graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and was a software engineer on OPT. However, his company moved, and he was not willing to relocate with the team. He wasn't able to find another job related to his field and has been working as a shipping clerk since 2018.

We're not really sure which is best to list on resum a gap or an unrelated job as most recent experience. We appreciate any insight you guys may have!

Questions about new I-134 form

I have some questions about the I-134 form. The other forum about the I-134 is about a 2 page form from 2007 (including the example form). The form has changed from 2 pages to 8 pages. (I read the old forum and form but they were not able to help me answer my questions).

My first question is about page 4 (part 3, number 38).

"I (intend/ do not intend) to make specific contributions to the support of the (beneficiary)."

The form and example, listed on this website, from 2007 (which have a different number and format) does not check either box and writes "N/A -- k1 Visa for permanent residence"

I watched a video on the current I-134 form online and the lady said they checked "intend" but did not provide details like the form asks.

My question is, what do I do here?

I feel like as the fiance you might check intend or a sponsor providing room and board you check intend but as a joint sponsor who is not actually providing anything financially (just fulfilling the income requirement for the form) you would check do not intend.

What's right in these 3 cases?

1. Fiancee (no income)

2. Joint Sponsor (providing room and board)

3. Joint Sponsor (providing nothing, just helping fulfill the income requirement)

Question 2

Is annual income net income or gross income? (Amount before or after taxes)

(page 3, part 3, question 3)

Question 3.

P. 3 employment information

So this section is pretty straightforward but in this situation I'm not sure.

Sponsor's employer (who does the w2's) is different than the physical address of the job.

Employer is responsible for multiple properties. Employer name and address is on W2's but Sponsor's physical job place/ name and location is different.

Which do I put on the form?

(I posted this in another forum but it doesn't seem to be very active so I reposted here due to lack of responses).

Thank you.
