HELP: Accidentally checked wrong box on I-485 "Inadmissibility Grounds" Section

Hi, we are slightly panicking as we are preparing for our interview (in about a month) and realized we accidentally checked the wrong box under the General Eligibility and Inadmissibility Ground section of the I-485 application. The question asked, "Have you EVER worked in the United States without authorization?"

We answered no, and it must have been an oversight. My husband worked for cash "under the table" for a few months in 2019 and 2020. We even listed this employment under the employment section of the application. When filing our taxes, we also paid taxes on this income.

Will this cause an issue in our interview? Should we correct this before our interview, or during it? How can we bring this up?

Thank you for any advice.

Hello,

I am in the process of submitting my I-485 package with my US citizen spouse. I am currently on a STEM OPT Status (F1 Visa) and will be applying with I-130 and I-485 packet very soon. Pretty much all USCIS forms I've filled out ask for:

1) Date of Birth

2) City/Town Village of Birth

3) Country of Birth

My whole life I've assumed the fact that I was born in Istanbul, Turkey and I got my OPT & STEM OPT I-765s through writing "Istanbul" in City of Birth box.

Now, since I-485 is a bigger deal than I-765 for OPTs, I don't want to make any mistakes and risk an RFE. My passport, national ID card(kimlik) and birth certificate(vukuatli nufus kayit ornegi) say 'Bahcelievler' under place of birth. However Bahcelievler is a district of Istanbul and not a city on its own from my understanding. If I list Istanbul as city of birth for my application, would I risk getting an RFE? Please consider the fact that Bahcelievler is not a town/city/village as per Turkish standards.

If there's any Turkish person who sees this post and dealt with USCIS can shed some light, I would be forever grateful. Thank you!!

NVC could be a nicer organization

I just want to express one thing. It is really medieval how NVC manages information.

I don't think it would be so hard for them to publish for each embassy, what was the last date of DQ they scheduled interview for that month. This is as easy as looking the last row of an excel table and bring all data in just one excel sheet for each embassy.

We would not have then this "Which DQ dates got the interview, which dates will get next month, hmm" syndrome.

NVC publishes how many visas are issued by each post every month for 2 months before. USCIS publishes how many cases are approved, denied and pending for each quarter. That is good things. But why not publishing how many cases are interviewed each month in each post, which DQ date was the cut off date etc.

I really do not think that would take more than 15 min for an employee to prepare. Everything there on their system already.

Just frustrated to check all the timelines, some of them partly filled, some of them filled with mistakes and try to make some assumption which dates are interviewed, which dates will be interviewed next batch etc. I wish NVC was more transparent on this issue.
