My current status is H1B Cap-exempt.

I submitted the I-140 document. Now my receipt date is before the "Receipt date for a case inquiry".

After submitting the service request outside the normal processing time, the USCIS replied it is under background check. I searched online that it takes 4 weeks to 6 weeks for background check.

However, my case was already 11 months since I submitted the I-140.

Does anyone has similar experience, the abnormal background check processing time?

I'm in the process of bringing my in-laws over and while I was filling out the I-864, I've run into some weird wording in one of the doc. I am currently filling out separate application for both of my in-laws and on the I-864 part 3 question two it asks if I'm also sponsoring someone else other than the principle immigrant. Should I list both of them on this form (since they ask not to include the other immigrant if filing a separate application) or leave this part blank and file a separate I-864?

Hi all, my wife went to her interview yesterday and it went very good. We were asked very few questions because the officer told us we had more than enough files we presented to them. He then told us my wife's visa was approved and to expect the visa in a few days. When I check the application status of the visa on CEAC it says 'administrative processing', does this basically mean they are preparing to issue the visa, or what does that entail? When I saw other people posting they all said they saw 'card being produced' and things like that. Anyway, thanks.

I am preparing for my interview coming up soon, and I was not asked to submit a DS-5540 before.

However, today, I found it on the NVC website stating that it needs to be filled out, and multiple people saying it's best to fill it out before the interview in case they ask for it. I had no idea this was a thing that needed to be filled out, and wouldn't have found out until the interview had I not been triple checking everything.

I have a couple questions:

Can I list my bank account (spouse of the intending immigrant) under her assets? We are married, so these should be considered shared, right? It's not a joint bank account, as this country does not offer joint bank accounts. My wife is a homemaker and I earn all the income (we both live abroad).

Do we need proof for our statements? It never asks for proof, and in the instruction form for the DS-5440, it never refers to any documentation needing to substantiate what is written in the form. For instance, my wife graduated from high school and college. We can only really find her college degree. Do we even need to provide it?

Is there a general asset 'amount' needed? We have a very strong joint sponsor that makes over 200K USD per year, I wouldn't think this would be an issue. And I also bought very good US health insurance for my wife at the beginning of 2020.
