Hello, first time poster here. My fianc and I have an approved K1 petition and will be having our interview at AIT it Taipei, Taiwan. However, the four month expiration date listed on our NOA2 is 1/27/21 and is approaching fast. I heard that we can request for an extension for another for months, which we will need. So I wrote an email to the consulate, following a format listed in some of the other posts on this website. It explained we still intend to get married and that we are gathering the required documents and scheduling a medical exam. However their response confuses me. In their reply email, they stated: Quote However, a consular interviewing officer can extend the validity of the petition for additional periods of four month from the date of revalidation if it expires before visa processing is completed. As of that, the interviewing officer will determine whether to extend the validity of petition on your visa interview date. We hope that you will find the above information of use. Regards, Immigrant Visa Unit This looked like they were saying we should let it expire, and then schedule the interview for after it is expired, and the officer will determine whether or not to extend it at this time, during the interview. I called to get clarification, and this is pretty much what they told me on the phone as well. It scares the bejesus out of me to LET IT EXPIRE and then schedule an interview. Does this seem correct to other people? Has anyone specifically had to extended the petition expiration from AIT in Taipei before? Do they extend it automatically? Do we let it expire? We are not sure what to do! Thanks for your help! Cory and HsinYa

Filing in February 2021, Affidavit Letter from friends? |

I read the I-751 filing instructions and it says that I SHOULD include two affidavits, sworn to by friends, to prove that my marriage is bona fide. It also says that the letter has to include friend s address and birthday and birth place, isn t that kind of... too personal to share for some people? My friends and I all like to keep these things private. 1. Do I absolutely have to? I have TONS of evidence to send them like insurance, bills, joint account, rent, plane tickets, photos and even hubby paying for my education. 2. Do my friends need to have their letters notarized? 3. Can my US citizen friends only provide full name, number, email and where they work (all of them are academia or physicians). Anyone filed recently without affidavits?

Hello everyone, my ead approved on 11/23 and received the card on 12/11, but I still have not received my SSN. I indicated on my I-765 form that I authorized USCIS to share my information to SSA to issue my SSN, after 2 weeks waiting there still nothing get. I had called SSA through national 800 number, but the customer service agent only gave me the SSA's phone number which near my neighborhood. However, I noticed that there are three SSA in Houston(nw, sw and se), sw(where I live) and nw are closed because of COVID, only se office is open. My question is can I make an appointment of se office even though I'm not live there? or I should keep waiting patiently? I feel frustrated and hope somebody can give me advice to help me , following are the things happened on me because I don't have SSN 1. Chase Bank rejected my spouse to put my name under his bank account to make a joint bank account 2. Leasing office rejected my spouse to put my name under his lease 3. T-mobile rejected me to change my phone bill's name from my spouse name to mine 4. Blue Cross Blue Shield rejected my spouse to put my name under his health insurance 5. DMV not allow me to get driver license 6. No employers want to give me interview chance after they know I still have not received SSN
