Hello, I filed in December, 2021. I haven t heard anything from them (no transfers), and when I check the receipt number it still shows the same message that the notice was sent and they received my application. I ve seen some other cases on this forum that got an update that it was being reviewed only a few months into their case and they still have not been approved. My question is: is it usually an indicator of how far off your case is from being approved? Would it be a bad sign/an indication that it won t be the normal processing time if it still shows the notice sent message? What is your guy s experiences? Thanks

Hey guys. Sorry for the constant questions. I found this website and since have taken a lot of my questions and inquiries and brought them here. So please forgive me if I m asking things constantly. My wife s visa in Thailand has a mark on it from when an Immigration officer here in Thailand accidentally stamped the wrong date. He then used a sharpie to block out that date and stamped another date just above it. I know altering passports and visas is illegal, however would the US government/consulate have a concern and or problem with a date on a visa in my wife s passport literally being blocked out with a sharpie? Would an explanation of why that happened suffice if they even ask about it or would we need some kind of document from Thailand verifying that s what really happened? (Wouldn t even know how to get that to be honest) Thanks guys! You all are life savers.

Hi all. I just noticed on my I-797C that my wife s middle name is missing. It s just her last name then first (Last, First). Our I-130 was filed about 9 and half months ago. Will this cause an issue? Why would her middle name be missing (we used a lawyer, but I confirmed and looked over I-130 documents and her middle name was on there and correct on the I-130)? Is it too late to change it?

I m not sure if this is the correct thread/forum to ask this, but it s something that I ve been thinking about. Considering what s going on between Taiwan, the US, and China, and being that my wife is Chinese, historically what s happened to I-130s and specifically spousal visas in the event of war or times of high political tension? For instance, if the consulate in China were to close, how would one even proceed? I mean it could be done in another country, but that person would need residence in that third country. And I imagine there would be more scrutiny from individuals a country the US is at war with?

When to get police certificate |

Hello, I need a little help figuring this one out. My wife and I are in a third country in order to live together. She plans to go back to China a few months before the interview, which she plans to go back within 2 months. Anyways, I know we need a police certificate. I thought we could get one perhaps a month before we left this country and she could use that, but I read something on the Guangzhou consulates website that seems to indicate otherwise. I attached some text, and here you can see it says: - Have you ever lived anywhere else outside your country of nationality for more than one year?
- If yes, please also provide a police certificate (with a certified English translation) from that country which covers the entire period of residency.
Now, it does clearly state the ENTIRE PERIOD of residency. Would that mean, then, that we could not get a police certificate say, one month before we left and it be valid? If so, how do they expect us to get one as obtaining it from our third country is very difficult within China.
