Hello! Is anyone else having trouble with the CEAC site today and yesterday? We are at NVC stage and we got an alert that our documents have been reviewed and require some adjustments. I can login, I can see the messages, but when I click on "civil documents" to see exactly what I need to do I am diverted to a site stating "Application error, try again later". Very frustrating when I am eager to fix what I need to do! We have written to NVC and also alerted CEAC that something is up with their site, but I was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this? Cheers, Heike

Hi everyone I would like to ask for some input on the following situation: We are currently in the ROC process, and I will be able to apply for naturalization next May (as in, 90 days before my Greencard anniversary). We would like to file for naturalization ASAP. My husband just got a work assignment that will take him to another state for a few months, into an an area we are both excited about and would like to move to. As I will also be searching for a new job in spring, and he would be able to continue his job after the assignment remotely from there (with his employer in the old state), it would be a great opportunity for us to move permanently. Hence we would also file for the N400 there (we are aware of the 90 day rule before filing and would not file before the move to avoid issues with the jurisdiction / moving the case). The one big issue with this is that we would have to break our existing lease, which is already certain to cause problems with our current management. Because of that we are currently contemplating holding onto the old place until that lease is up next summer, to save us the hassle to deal with the lease breaking (finances permitting). Now, the question: Will holding onto the old place for a few months (up to 7, max) until the lease is up and de facto having two apartments for a while be a problem at the interview stage? We dont want to raise any red flags and would live in the new place establishing our life there, but even if we break the lease, there is almost certainly going to be an overlap as we will be responsible for rent for the old apartment until it is filled.

Hi everyone, I am at NVC stage of uploading civil documents. I have lived in 7 countries, 3 more than 12 months. I have been asked to provide police clearances for all 7. I have two questions: - for those countries where I have lived less than 12 months, can I simply upload a document confirming my length of stay in the countries? According to USCIS guidance I am only required to submit police clearances for countries where I spent more than 12 months since age of 16. - if you think I should make an effort to get all police clearances I would really appreciate if you could direct me to service providers who do this for Peru and Mexico. I am applying from Switzerland and have already sought advice from the embassy in Peru, who confirmed that I need to assign a proxy over there (I last lived there over 12 years ago, hence have lost all my connections). For Mexico I no longer have the passport/visa used so I think this may be quite challenging... Thanks a lot in advance Heike

Hi everybody, Our son has the right to get the U.S. citizenship, since my wife was born in the US and is a US citizen. Her father still lives in the US and is also a US citizen. Our son is now 12 years old and was born in Germany. Therefore my wife has to proof, that she resided for at least 365 consecutive days in the US before our son was born, in order for him to get the USC. After my wife was born, she lived for at least 2 years in the US (she left when she was about 2 1/2 years old). On the page https://nl.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/birth/proof-physical-presence/ we saw some examples of proof, but the problem is that none of them apply to my wife, because she was so little. Does anyone have an idea how we could proof that alternatively or where we could get papers confirming it? We want to move to the US and my wife already filed a i130 for me. We thought it s not necessary for our son, but just today we found out that we might have to file the i130 for him too. The problem is that the page said you should only file the i130 for the child, if the child cannot be a US citizen. In theory he could, if we could proof the above. Since the i130 takes a lot of time to be processed, we thought about just filing it in the meantime anyways. What do you guys think about that? Thank you in advance!
