I-129f Questions - Address & Employment History

Hi all,

I'm working on filling out the i-129f now and have a couple questions I was not able to find a clear answer to elsewhere about the address and employment history.

For address history

- Is a small gap a problem? For instance, if my partner has a one month gap where he stayed with a friend between two longer term living situations in the past 5 years, does that need to be included?

- Is it ok if the dates are estimates? We're struggling to find any evidence of specific dates of move-ins/outs.

For employment history

- Does this need to include every small job over the past 5 years? My partner has had a number of short-term gigs (e.g. working an event for a single day, or a two week gig, or something). This could get excessive and we very likely may miss some things. Would it be a problem to only include the more significant jobs?

Thank you in advance!

My lawyer told me i have an RFE for medical report and i need to have it ready before the 10th of this month I owe my lawyer some money and i think he might be lying so I give him more money because he said they'll close the case if i don't send them the medical report by the 10th which cost 499 where i live and i can't pay off the whole amount to my lawyer and pay for the report in this short period i been without work for while and I need to know if there's deadline for sending the RFE because I intend to send the medical report myself without using the lawyer maybe and the deadline he mentioned is bit over 30 days

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me, if my son (my husband's stepson) and I will be interviewed (at the embassy) together or seperately for our IR1/IR2 Interview..

I'm currently preparing a folder with the original documents and I was wondering, if I need to make a seperate one for my son, as we might be separated. He's 12 years old.

Thank you very much in advance

Proofs Bona Fide Marriage

Dear Visa Journey Community,

My husband and myself are in the process of collecting all the documents needed for the green card application - Change of status from an O-1 visa (been living and legally working in the us for 10 years.)

- For the evidence of Bona Fide Marriage, could our venmo transactions be used as proofs? We just married and opened a joint bank account that we will now use for shared bills. Before that though, all the transactions between us were made through venmo. They include electricity, gas, rent and phone bills for the last 2 years we lived together. All the accounts are under my name as well as the lease but my husband has sent me payments of half the bills each month through venmo for two years. Should I also include our new joint account statement besides the venmo transactions with this explanation even if it would only be a one month and a half statement? We are planning to send our file before October 1.

- For the "English" speaking proof under the I-944 (Self-Sufficiency) proof, could a Bachelor and Master degree in the USA be sufficient? Or do I actually need to take a specific test?

- For the Affidavit of bona fide marriage from friends, is there an example of a letter available somewhere? With the major elements that should be present in the letter, the length, specific terms...?

- Any reference to an official US credit bureau for the credit report. Does it have to be only a credit report of the beneficiary or also for the petitioner?

- Is it possible to pay and upload the documents for the application directly online on the USCIS website or does it need to be mailed?

Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

Could it really takes 12 and half months for the I-130 petition to get approved?

Hi everyone :)

Today is exactly 6 months since we're waiting for an approval from the USCIS.

Yesterday my Husband called them to ask about our case and how long it would take them. They told him it takes 12 and half months for right now but it could change every month. but when I go on the wedside and check how long texas USCIS needs to process a case it stays 4 and half to 7 months. So it's really confusing and I really hope we don't have to wait another half year for an approval. It's starts getting really frustating and I wanted to hear from you guys what your experience was with the timeline and how long it really took for you to get approved. Thank you.
