After two courts ruled against a federal government policy on the use of H-1B visa workers by staffing and outsourcing companies, an industry group has won a major victory in a settlement with the government amid an ongoing lawsuit.

The agreement between the government and the ITServe Alliance, which represents firms that place foreign workers at U.S. companies, requires U.S. Citizenship and Immigration to scrap a 2018 policy memo widely seen as a blow to the IT staffing and outsourcing industry. The memo, which according to the deal made this week must be tossed out within 90 days, requires companies placing H-1B holders at third-party firms to provide the government with evidence for the duration of the requested visa term of where the foreign citizens will work and what jobs they will do.

I just got a letter from department of transportation in my home state since my Driver's icense will expire soon. Meanwhile the last notice from my i-751 application was that it was ready to be scheduled for interview and recently sent paperwork to them to change to a divorce waiver. First, I didn't receive any notice at all that they received my request to change to divorce waiver. The papers were delivered to the NBC (where my case was last transfered to) but no word in a few weeks. - I am getting very stressed out beacuse I need to be able to continue driving to work (I am an essential worker so I am working through this craziness). The letter for DOT says I need to apply for my new license in a timely manner (obviously), but I have no additional paperwork to prove my current status.

During this pandemic what can I do if DOT is open but USCIS is not - meaning I can't get evidence of my lawful presence? I always thought this was so strange, cause if they contact USCIS they should get the answer that I am lawfully here, but they still need me to present a piece of paper. It makes no sense.

Help, I don't know what to do.

Hi, I have followed the guide on this site fully, every single step. My application was rejected today because they say:

"The application/petition has not been fully completed. Based on the selection made under Part 2 Application Type or Filing Category, the form I-944 and/or Form I-864/I-864EZ are required."

I have choosen "Principal applicant" and "family based - immediate relative spouse of U.S citizen"

I have included the I-864 as stated in the guide, I don't know what is wrong. This is the third time I get my package back and two months of waiting in vain. I don't know what to do
