To those of you who refiled your I-765 due to it being rejected, how long did it take for them to notify you (via your reciept number, text, mail or otherwise) after you re-submitted i.e. from the day they recieved it?

Am I still allowed to work on-campus on my F-1 student Visa while my AOS is pending? From what I have understood, I am allowed to do so as my F-1 status will be valid until I receive and use my EAD or AP, correct?
