Hi. I just receieved my notice to appear for interview for Naturalization early next year. I got a traffic citation for driving without a license in North Carolina but live in Florida, as well as not switching lanes when a police had stopped somebody on the shoulder lane. Since it was a traffic citation I didn't mention it in the application. I paid it well in advance and it was below $500. My question is though, does anyone have experience of this situation and is this a reason for them to not approve me? /Worried applicant

Hi everyone! Due to the difficulties of immigrating (CR-1 status, green card holder) to the US right before the pandemic broke out this year, I had to go back to my home country temporarily, to take care of my family and because of heightened stress levels. I needed to go back home to feel okay again. Now, I'm back in the US, after 5,5-6 months. I have basically been unemployed since January and haven't been able to accomplish any of the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year, which is very disappointing. My spouse and I are considering travelling together to my home country, for 2 weeks-1 month, if I am unable to get a job and start working in the US soon. My partner is very supportive and knows how hard the pandemic has been for me as an immigrant and how all my plans have been delayed. Given this background, I wanted to ask for your advice. Can I travel outside of the US for, let's say, a month, in February 2021, even though I was travelling outside of the US between May 11-October 31, 2020? How does the 6 month residence/travelling rule work? Do I have to wait 6 more months to travel again? How are days counted toward residence? Will I lose my green card if I travel again soon? Some people say that you can travel out of the country for one year with a green card and without any special re-entry permits; others claim that one can only travel for 6 months per year. What is accurate here? Sorry for all the overwhelming questions!

Hi everybody, I have a quick question, is there any reason I would need to bring all my paperwork, a binder full, for the green card process? I was approved a 10-yr green card in 2018, and am on my way back to the US after 5 months outside of the country. Just don't feel like bringing this heavy binder but just leave it with my family.

My family and I are making our move back to the US on Nov 19, so I'm just curious to see if anyone has just made the trip into the US recently? We did travel there from Sweden in June, and while it was nothing special, everything went fairly smooth and all. Just a COVID-19 check at PoE and that's it. Guessing nothing has changed since then, what I can read and no new rules of quarantine or anything. We'll be arriving in Chicago and then flying to Salt Lake City. I can't even remember if we have to gather our checked luggage in Chicago but assume not. Only have a 2 hour layover and we need to go through customs and all. Would be nice not having to worry about the bags...

Hello, due to COVID restrictions there are rules around entering the USA. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspension-entry-immigrants-nonimmigrants-certain-additional-persons-pose-risk-transmitting-2019-novel-coronavirus/ At Section 2 (a)(i), any lawful permanent resident of the United States is exempt from entry ban. Wanted to confirm that my husband, with his two-year conditional greencard is considered a "lawful permeant resident" Thanks!
