I got my interview notice scheduled for June 22nd which is amazing after all this waiting. However, me and my husband has planned a trip to my home country July 2nd which is roughly a week and a half after my AOS interview. What do we do if I have not received my card by then? Is it possible to receive a temporary stamp or something along those lines? Am I able to still use my Combo card? Just looking for some guidance on how to navigate this or if we should attempt to push our trip up by a few days. Thanks!!

My husband and I were married on 3/1/2019 and have been waiting since then for his I-485 AOS interview. This is partially due to our initial interview being cancelled due to COVID-19, and also due to a glitch in the system where they sent our interview notice to an old address, which we haven't lived at for 2 years. (Note: we have received correspondence from USCIS to our current address, and it was confirmed by a Tier 2 agent that it was updated, and must have been a system error). I have a few questions: - Is there anything we can do to expedite this? My husband is now applying for his EAD/AP for the third time.
- Should we file a request to expedite?
- Since we've been married for 2+ years, will we skip the 2 year green card and go straight to the 10 year?
- Should we hire a lawyer?
Here's a timeline of our events so far: - 03/15/2019: Sent I-485, I-131 and I-765 package
- 05/08/2019: Fingerprints reviewed
- 09/27/2019: Request to change address approved
- 02/03/2020: I-485 interview scheduled
- 03/18/2020: I-485 interview cancelled (due to COVID-19)
- 03/19/2020: I-485 interview ready to be scheduled
- 07/23/2020: I-485 interview scheduled
- *08/06/2020: Interview (we missed it, as we hadn't received the interview letter, despite our address being updated and confirmed on 09/27/2019. Please note at this time the USPS in NYC was also barely operating, so all mail was delayed by 2+ weeks. If it had gone to the correct address, we probably still wouldn't have received it in time.)
- 08/25/2020: Request to reschedule interview approved
It's now 05/05/2021, and we have not heard anything. We have tried calling USCIS dozens of times, and are unable to get through to an officer who can actually help us. Our current case status is "Interview was scheduled. On July 23, 2020, we scheduled an interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence...". Would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks so much!

Hey, we had our interview (i-485) in February and still waiting to hear from them. Ead card is expiring in June, do you think it would be good to renew it or just wait for the greencard results? If we renew it, what do we need to send with the form and WHERE to send it? thank you

My American wife (the petitioner) filed for me and my son (CR1 & CR2) a couple of weeks ago and we want to start preparing already now for the next steps. We know the petitioner needs tax reports from the previous years etc. So, my wife was legally married to her ex-husband until last year. They were "separated" but the divorce was finalized only last year. They have filed taxes together previously. They also had a shared bank account etc. We are a little bit confused how these things affect the future steps. My wife has a business and she is earning enough to support me and my son. Any opinions, please?

What are the current restrictions when re-entering the US? (USC and Spouse) |

If this is the wrong place to post this, please let me know! What does the situation look like in terms of re-entering the US after travel to Europe currently? Me and my husband would like to visit family in my home country this summer (we are both vaccinated so no worries there) but we are not sure if we are able to re-enter without issues? From what I understand, it shouldn't be an issue since he is a USC and I will likely either have my green card at that point or my AP which would still allow me to re-enter since I am a spouse. Additionally, I read that we will have to provide negative Covid tests which shouldn't be an issue. I am more so wondering if there are any specific restrictions since we will be coming from Europe. Obviously things might change as more people get vaccinated but we just wanted to get a feel for the current situation. We won't book anything until we are 100% that we will be able to re-enter without issues.
