Hello, I applied for the SSN in December after we got married. Everything went well and they told me to wait for the card in my mail or come back to the office in 4 weeks. I didn't get the card so I went to the office 2 days ago and they told me that they can't issue it because of USCIS and I need to call them or go there. I tried to go there and they said I need to book an appointment after that I called to USCIS waited for 45 minutes and the lady there said that she doesn't have any information and I need to talk to somebody who knows more but she can't transfer me to another person because it's too late. I called the next day and another lady on the phone said I don't qualify for the SSN and I can't get an appointment in the office. I called again and one more lady said she will transfer me to somebody higher and maybe they can give me more information but from what they have K1 can't obtain SSN. And that level 2 of USCIS who has more information is too busy and I need to wait over 1080 minutes to get in touch with them. So I don't know what to do. Any advices? Thank you.

HELP J1 Visa and Emailed DS-5535

Hello, I'm a J-1 petitioner for a semester in a Maryland University.

I got the DS-5535 on a email the day after my interview (December the 19th)

As others I read, I was granted the visa and given a white slip that said I'd get it in 4 to 6 days.

However, 28 days have passed and I don't have anything yet, I called, made sure they receive the documents and emailed them with the same usual responses.

My flight was going to take departure next Friday (January the 17th), unless I get the "Issued" status by this evening I won't be able to take it.

They kept my passport with them, and I wonder how long can they keep it without making the firm decision of stamping it? Also, what made they think I'm a threat to make me send them the DS-5535?

I even know the name of the Vice-consul who is doing my visa process since he signed and stamped his name on my DS-2019.

What do you think are the estimate time I'll have to wait more for getting my passport with the visa?

Hi Everyone!

Is there anyone that have recently submitted their N-400 application online? What have you entered in the "What was your occupation?"? I m an Engineer, and I can t find any selection that directly applies to my occupation. Has anyone had that issues with their occupation? What did you end up selecting?

Thank you!

Hello all,

My case was received on Thursday the second and I got a receipt number for AP, AOS and EAD with it. The next day I called USCIS and requested to expedite under financial hardship.

The agent asked me some questions and game me a receipt number for the expedition request. I have a job offer from a business that has been trying to hire someone for the position they have vacant right now, and for which I am perfectly qualified for.

I have yet to receive any email asking for any supporting documentation, but I just wanted to know if you think there's a good chance it will be accepted or not.

Thank you so much!!

Hello. I got my GC through marriage 18 years ago but I broke the continuous residence. I was out of the country for more than a year without reentry permit but they let me in at the airport after explaining what happened to the officer and I was able to renew my GC when expired soon after. I have just applied for the citizenship because in the last five years I was out of the country only four months and I meet all the other requirements. I am still married to my US husband and we have a daughter. My concern is what may happen at the interview. I know they may ask me about that period and I do not know if the cannot only deny my application but also take away my GC.

12/14/19 N-400 applied online

09/01/19 Biometrics appointment
