Received RFE - Translation Question

My fianc is from South Korea and we are working on submitting additional evidence for the RFE we received. His dad hand wrote a letter supporting our relationship to submit to USCIS along with a few other documents. My fianc speaks Korean, of course, but he does know a good amount of English. I know that whenever we submit a document in a foreign language, this document has to be translated. Is it okay if my fianc translates my father in law s letter and we submit that translated document along with the photocopy of the hand written letter?

I read somewhere that whoever translates any document in a foreign language has to certify the translation is complete and accurate. How would he certify this? Does he just have to submit another document stating that the translated document is complete and accurate? Is he even allowed to be the one to translate the letter or does this have to be translated by a professional?

Received RFE - Please Help

My fianc and I received our RFE reasoning in the mail today. I attached the RFE to this post. My fianc and I submitted letters of intent to marry but we didn t provide enough proof of our intent. In the examples provided, they said we can submit proof of subsequent meetings and ongoing communications. I am currently in South Korea with him and have met his dad. I will be meeting his sister too. Does this mean we can submit pictures/text messages of our current trip to support our proof of relationship? I thought USCIS only wanted proof of relationship within the 2 years of filing the petition.

1. Can we submit photos of our current trip together in South Korea? (Pictures with the beneficiary s dad, pictures with his sister, and of our trip in general together)

2. He proposed to me in Colorado back in February 2022. We have pictures of our engagement right after he proposed (pictures of us together holding up my engagement ring). Would this be good evidence to submit?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! We want to make sure to submit the correct evidence so we can avoid any further issues/delays with our petition. Thank you!

Hi All,

I had an interview back in October 2022 and it went well (approved).

I should have waited but did a name change request there. The officer told me I'd need to go to court for the oath change and he set up all for me.

And also he mentions that if I do not hear back within 3 months, I'd need to contact USCIS because it is out of normal processing time.

Does anyone have similar experience? Anyone requested a name change in 2022 and still waiting? or approved?

passed my interview but case status hasn't changed

Hello

I had my citizenship interview on Jan 3rd. It was combined interview for I-751 and N-400 and passed them.

To be exact, I got my 10 year green card couple weeks ago and my citizenship remained in "my case was submitted for quality review based on an approval recommendation".

My interview officer said everything looked fine and she recommended approval but my case status hasn't changed.

Since I changed my name through N-400, I'm aware that I need to wait for juridicial oath ceremony and that's not happening often.

How long should I wait to call USCIS to check my case status?

Are there anyone gone through similar situation?

Hello, we are thinking of the future possibility of going back to Korea. Has anyone re applied for the F-6 visa outside of Korea?
I had one and got mine in Korea back in 2019 and gave it up when moving back to America so I m wondering if I ll need to go to the Korean embassy or if there s an easier way to do so? I live a good 6hrs from the nearest embassy.
I wasn t sure where to post this but I m just curious if anyone else has done so?
thank you!
