Hi,
I m a Korean citizen (both my parents are Korean citizens). My dad was working in Taiwan when I was born, so I was born in Taiwan. I preparing to get my K1 visa, and I was wondering if I would need my Taiwan birth certificate (which i do not have....). Would my Korean birth certificate (basic certificate) suffice?

PLEASE HELP.

Thank you!!

Filed I-130 Living Abroad with Spouse

I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this questions. If it's in the wrong location, feel free to move it admin. Thanks~

OK, so I'm currently teaching overseas in SK. I met and married my spouse here and applied for the I-130 to return to the U.S. I have yearly contracts and have not renewed this year's one with the intention of returning home. My contract ends at the end of February 2020. Unfortunately, as we have Nebraska service center, it will probably take a long time for our visa to be approved. By end of my contract it will be only 196 days since they received the petition. Because my apartment is also tied to my employment, I will have to be out of it at the end of my contract. We are trying to think of what we can possibly do if its not approved by end of Feb (most likely not). I would like to stay in country with him while we wait. My visa expires in March and I could easily hop over to Japan and re-enter SK on a visitor visa for 90 days, but of course I couldn't work (and who know if that will still be enough time with Nebraska).

My question is, would it mess up the process or look suspicious if we filed for a spousal visa here in South Korea (they usually only are for a year and then you have to go renew it)? It would allow me to stay in country and do temporary substitute teaching jobs until our visa gets approved. But I'm worried that would look bad to them (I'm domiciled in US since I vote there, have bank accounts, pay taxes, and receive mail there) that I don't have intention of moving back to the U.S. I don't want to mess with it if it will cast any suspicion.

Anyone have a similar situation or inputs on this?

Hello.

I wanted some advice about the supporting documents for the I-134 form.

Currently, I m unemployed and out of the US, so I ll be using a cosponsor. I just wanted to confirm if these supporting documents for both of our I-134 forms were sufficient.

1. My 1-134

- Copies of my three tax return transcripts for the last three years (2016-2018, all foreign earned income)

*I don t have any significant amount of money in any of US bank accounts, so should I even bother printing out statements? My savings is currently locked in my foreign account, which I can only take out once I leave South Korea later on (after my fiance s embassy interview).

2. Cosponsor s I-134

- Copies of 2018 tax return and transcript

- Copies of 2018 W-2

- Paystubs for the last three to six months of 2019

*My cosponsor started his job in June 2017, so I was just planning on including his 2018 return, as that s when he worked a full year.

**Also, does his I-134 have to have a wet signature?

I spoke to an immigration lawyer (paid around 100 USD for a consultation) here in Seoul, and he said those above documents should be fine. But as you know, I d like to see what everyone here on VJ think.

Thank you all in advance!

Hi everyone,

Had interview passed at Newark, NJ on 10/30, and waiting on arrival of oath ceremony letter. On 11/17, the case status on Myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov shows that "we scheduled your oath ceremony....", but no letter seen under the Document Tab until today, which is 5 calendar days passed. Anyone had same experience? How many days does it usually take to find the letter on the Document Tab? Thanks in advance.
