Unemployment and Removal of Conditions

Good Day! I hope all are well. So recently my husband and I were able to buy our first house. We will be moving across country to another state and currently do not have jobs there but do have money to sustain ourselves for a little bit. (We are not concerned about finding jobs, we both have degrees and experience and don't think we will have a problem). But, in the mean time, I will leave work next week and he has already left work. Would it be okay to collect unemployment during the moving phases of our journey up until we find a job, or will that show as a big no-no when it comes to our removal of of conditions? Would it also matter when he applies for citizenship next year.

Side question, if we don't finish the permanent resident yet (still in the waiting phases) can he still apply for citizenship next year, I think according to our timelines, he should be at the stage where he can apply for citizenship by then.

Hello,

I filed my I-485 along with the I-131 and I-765 on July 8, 2020. I received an NOA 1 within three weeks. I also got an RFE, which I responded promptly to, and USCIS confirmed the RFE was received in early September of 2020. After that, I have received zero updates. No biometrics appointment letter nada. I m located in the east bay area (30 minutes from San Francisco). Should I continue to just wait, or should I call USCIS and see what is going on?

Things to bring to Interview. Is it correct financial documents are no longer required?

They are no longer requiring Affidavit of Support nor the transcript or tax returns. Some older interview checklists asked for them but seems no longer. Is this correct?

3. Gather Documents Required for the Interview

Every visa applicant, no matter their age, must bring certain documents to the interview, including photographs, and the original or certified copy version of all civil documents submitted to NVC. You do not need to bring your Affidavit of Support or financial evidence you submitted to NVC.

K1 petition expired, please give advice :(

Hello all!

As of this weekend, the validity of me and my fiances 129f will have expired. As a police certificate took so long to acquire, we were held up in scheduling the interview. We just got the final document yesterday, but no one has revalidated our petition.

The letter to revalidate our petition arrived at the embassy on June 23 while the petition expires on the 4th of July. We have basically called every day but a week went by before they even opened the letter and though I called today and let them know everything, we never ended up hearing back. They never confirmed if they would extend even though we've paid our fees and have everything ready, and we even asked if we could schedule our interview now but they said that we should not on the phone today.

As the petition will now expire, my fiance and I are so anxious. Even though we have no reason to not show our intent to proceed, we are so worried why no one is extending. Does anyone have advice :(

Hi all,

Anyone still waiting for their case from Texas Service Center (SRC)??? We have been waiting for over 2 years now which is crazy.

My wife s case was filed in 05/24/2019 and her NOA1 was 05/31/2019.

She did her Biometrics on November of 2019 and no update since. Her 18 months extension expired and we had to call and schedule an infopass. They did give her another year of extension and took her expired green card away.

we have done two case inquiries online and all we are getting from them is they said they are sorry for taking this long and they are trying hard to move things quicker blah blah blah. But I ve seen people get approved within 4 months at the service center...

Any idea what we should do next?

Thank you all.
