My wife has been in the USA with her green card for over a year now.

She now wants to change her last name to mine, although I mentioned it was her choice when we initially filed our case.

I m not sure how I do this or which place to start. We have our marriage certificate from South Korea and all of her documents, but everything is in her maiden name.

if this question doesn t belong here please help and direct me on where to start.

thank you

Criminal Record question

My fiance and I are applying for the K1 visa, we both live in Seoul South Korea currently as I have a job here and we met here in Korea. I had a DUI when I was 19. I was able to get in contact with my lawyer and he sent me a copy of ORDER GRANTING EXPUNCTION OF CRIMINAL RECORDS. It has all of my information about the arrest and the records being expunged afterwards. At the bottom it has the signature of the presiding judge and it also has A CERTIFIED COPY ATTEST with the signatures of the county clerk and deputy. I can't physically go to the court because I am living in Korea and this occurred in the States. Is this copy that he emailed me going to be enough? I don't want to risk getting an RFE.

Thanks in advance!

I-485 is supposed to automatically register you for selective service, but I can't find my registration?

My spouse filed the I-495 AOS to adjust from a K1 visa when he was 25. The form said

Quote

I understand that if I am a male who is 18 to 26 years of age,
submitting this application will automatically register me with
the Selective Service System as required by the Military
Selective Service Act.

So he expected to be automatically registered. But now he's 27 and we're getting ready to file the N-400 for citizenship, and it looks like that form requires your Selective Service registration info. I went on the official Selective Service website to look up his information with his name, birthday, and SSN, but it says it can't find him in the system. I also can't find any document we were mailed regarding the registration.

I'm panicking now because it says if you didn't register before your 26th birthday, you are barred from citizenship, student aid, government jobs, and more, for the rest of your life. We're contacting a lawyer, but I have no idea what happened here.

Could it actually be the form tells you that you'll be automatically registered, and then they don't automatically register you? Anyone get the automatic registration and found info about it to put on the N-400?

Edit: I just remembered when he got his Maryland Driver's License, I think there was a question about signing up for Selective Service there too, and I'm pretty sure he answered "yes" to register. That should've been before his 27th birthday. But I still can't find his info on the Selective Service site?

Notice not delivered (foreign address)

Hi, this is my first time posting on this site, but I'm stuck and desperate for help.

I'd really appreciate any guidance if anyone has dealt with a similar issue.

And I hope this post can be helpful for others in the future as well.

PROBLEM

I filed I-130 for my wife in March.

I filed online and promptly received a PDF of my receipt notice.

However, I still haven't received the receipt notice in the mail, even 7 months later.

Since I have a PDF of the notice, I suppose it really isn't crucial to have a paper copy.

But, I'm worried that I will also fail to receive future mailings.

POSSIBLE REASON(?)

We have a foreign address.

The address fields on the USCIS site didn't allow me to input our lengthy foreign address clearly with the right formatting.

Maybe the notice was misdelivered?

FAILED SOLUTION

I contacted USCIS about this issue through my online account.

I sent a correctly-formatted version of our (long) foreign address.

However, they ignored the correction and just sent me the standard Change of Address page.

But, the Change of Address page only allows US addressed to be entered.

Has anyone had a similar problem with a foreign address? Thanks!
