Wondering how you guys did it? Did you use paper clips for all the different originals-copies, and plastic sleeve for photos, etc? There's so much to take, how did you order and carry it all?

AOS interview before getting EAD - proof of marriage?

So it turns out Ill have my interview end of Feb, and my EAD will arrive in the mail most likely the same week, or a week later.
There is so much I can't get together for my interview, without EAD. Frustrating.

Any ideas on what solid things I can take to interview?

I can't get my name on the rental agreement (complicated story), don't have bills in my name or an account yet as I am not earning, don't have my drivers (waiting for EAD), so no car insurance, etc etc. The best I can do is get added to my husband's bank account, although in future we will most likely have seperate accounts as we both have kids from previous marriage and it is just simplest.
I have the secondary proof of marriage - photos, postcards sent to our address, christmas cards to us from family. What else can I take?

Expedite at USCIS or NVC

Hey guys!

Just gathering your thoughts. Endless drama seems to follow my husband's and my application and quite frankly none of it would exist if he was just here already. Having dealt with countless stressful, potentially dangerous, situations since we have started this process, our lawyer has advised us time and time again that we do not qualify for an expedite (as we are at USCIS). Having looked up the requirements of an expedite online, I'm afraid it still holds true in spite of everything.

However, I have noticed quite a few people on here and on other groups who have had success expediting at the NVC stage for what appear to me to be far less serious reasons: advanced wedding plans, family reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Do you think it is actually easier to qualify for an expedite at the NVC stage? Is it worth trying? One thing I read was that it is entirely up to the embassy/consulate to decide if they will accept the expedite. Anyone with experience in doing this or trying to do this would be extremely helpful.

At the moment we are paying for 3 different living situations and I'm beginning to lose my mind because the alternatives are no job or job without salary and potential deadly virus. And in none of these garbage scenarios can I actually be with my husband. I'm just so so so tired of all of this...

Obtaining Police Clearance from South Africa Abroad

Hi all!

So fun week, discovered that my husband's police clearance that was issued to him over two years ago by the South African government is no longer valid due to our 20 day trip to visit his family after we got engaged last year. Sooooo... any one have experience with attempting to get this thing while you are still living abroad? This came at an awkward time as my husband is visiting family in Canada and is currently stuck there due to this corona virus nonsense. He was under the impression he would have to go back to SA and go through the whole process in person (including waiting for 1-2 months for them to issue it... yuck). We would like to avoid it for economic reasons. If there are any services or methods you can recommend, it would be highly appreciated.
