My spouse and I are planning to file an I130 soon and I have a question about translating addresses. We have a document from the Community Center in Korea showing we live at the same residence. All of the information is in English AND Korean except for the address (the address is only written in Korean characters). I'm not sure what I should do... should we translate the entire document (even thought the document already has a translation) or is it enough to just translate the address into English in a separate section... and do I need to state I am qualified to translate the address into English? I'm not proficient in Korean BUT I do know how to write my Korean address in English as I often have mail sent to me from overseas.

Anyone who has recently interviewed in SA who can tell me approximately how long it took from the time they received their DQ letter to an actual interview?

Hey Guys, Cal and Jillian here. We are in the same position ( living together in Vietnam now, Jillian (US citizen) is going back to US Aug/Sept. My partner (Cal) (South African) will be immigrating to USA as soon as possible. We are in the beginning of the process and we are needless to say overwealmed. Is it possible to get married here in Vietnam ( the problem is that because we are not "residents of Vietnam" it seems that it is harder to obtain the international marriage license. We were originally going to do the K-1 Visa, but looking into the best option, and we saw your thread regarding the spousal Visa. We saw on this thread there is A Zoom Marriage in Utah? Any help would be appreciated. Jillian & Calvern

Bit of maybe an odd question, but quick backstory first.. I am a US citizen and my husband is an LPR. We are now living in the US and in the process of bringing my stepson to live with us here. We are currently waiting on our paperwork to clear NVC but trying to get prepared for the rest of the process. My husband is planning to fly back to South Africa when our son goes for his interview, as we really don t want to mail our original documents (it took almost a year to get our marriage certificate from Home Affairs, and we only have one copy). When it comes time to fly into the US, my stepsons mom was planning to bring him to us. There are several reasons for this. We aren t sure my husband would be able to get off work again long enough to make the trip and I can t easily go myself because we have a young toddler as well. She also has friends this side she is planning to visit anyway. so my question is, is it likely to cause any problems at POE if his mom travels with him? She does have a good history of visiting and leaving well within the visitors timeframe. She also has ties to SA (another child and owns property that side).
