Hello everyone, I first met my now fianc in my home country, Sierra Leone June 2019, at that time I was married to my previous husband. It should be noted that I sponsored his AOS as we met and married while he was on a student visa. In total we were married for a little over 4 years before the divorce. I returned from my trip from Sierra Leone July 2019 and filed for divorce from my ex-husband due to marital issues and me being tired of fighting for our marriage alone. My ex husband and I officially divorced in September 2019, and I continued a long distance relationship with my now fianc . I made plans and bought a ticket to visit him in April 2020; however the trip was cancelled due to COVID-19. I was planning to visit him this August 2020 as soon as international flight resumes for my country, but I am now reconsidering this plan as I would like to take the CR1 route due to factors of my fathers declining health and the prioritization of us citizens spouse and children visa and not knowing what the future holds with K1 visa processing. I am now planning to travel to Sierra Leone and get married to my now fianc this December 2020, so at this point we will have no time spent except for the six weeks that I am planning to spend during my wedding trip. I do plan to file a CR1 visa as soon as I return from getting married and I plan on making trips to Sierra Leone at least twice a year until my then husband joins me in the US. With this being said, do I have a good chance of an approval based on your experiences this site? Thanks for your input .

Hello VJ members, I am finally ready to file the K1 visa for my fianc after much sadness with me not being able to visit for a second time. I met him last year in my country but I was still married to my ex-husband so we didn t really spend much time. We only have about three pictures together and one with him and my sister. I bought my ticket to visit him this past April but as we are all aware my trip got cancelled. I feel that I have enough to file, but I am concerned that I don t have much time spent before filing k1. I have heard that individuals who have gone through previous filings are scrutinize more than the first timers, and I did filed an AOS for my ex-husband. I have the ticket that I bought for my canceled April trip, proof of my last trip including one boarding pass I randomly found while gathering my evidence , a bank statement of me withdrawing money during my last visit in Sierra Leone. I also have conversations with my fianc siblings where mentions about us were made. From what I have mentioned , do I have enough or should I wait to visit him again before filing to have more time spent? Thanks for your assistance in advance .

Hello everyone, I wanted to get advice on what path I should take. I was planning to visit my boyfriend in my country this month (I was actually leaving today ) if it wasn t for COVID-19. Anyways my boyfriend s cousin told me recently that my boyfriend was planning to propose to me had I visited this month. I asked my boyfriend and he confirmed it saying that he bought the ring already to propose to me. He went ahead and proposed to me on video call after getting my father s blessings to do so. He is going to send my engagement ring as soon as this COVID-19 ends. We have two or three pictures during my last visit in 2019, and we have been talking consistently through WhatsApp and regular calling since I returned to the US. I was thinking about filing K1 visa for him right away. I trip is now postponed to December. We talked about getting married both in court and traditionally during my visit in December due to my father s deteriorating health and me wanting him to witness me getting married. I assumed that I will get a response regarding the K1 filing before visiting my fianc in December. The question now is how would I proceed with his documents (AOS) as we would already be married in my country before his arrival to the US? Thanks in advance!!
