K-1 Question regarding co-sponsorship and travel during the process

Hello friends,

My fiance and I are looking to start the K-1 process soon.

One thing that we have really been wanting to do is to travel together towards the end of the process, we think of it as a honeymoon before we get married because leaving the US would be difficult for a while from what I understand until AOS is complete.

Since we have multiple willing cosponsors, would her quitting her job for the purpose of spending time together affect the process in any way or is this something we would just have to report at a certain point?

I assume that when filing the documents at my local consulate, that is also the place I would have to interview and collect the visa from? Our goal was to travel to China for several months, but based on everything I have read this would have to be between when the visa is issued but before it expires, and I would not be able to interview together with her at a different consulate in China?

Thank you in advance!

I got a case update from USCIS yesterday that they sent the petition to the DoS, it was approved December 4th. How long should i expect to wait until NVC receives and processes it (meaning i get the case number)? Do i the petitioner get an email, or the beneficiary or both of us?

Unemployed after I-129F approval

Hello, I am in a weird situation and would like some guidance on what the best way forward for me is. I am the petitioner and my July 18 petition was approved yesterday. I am currently residing abroad in my fianc e's country as I didn't want to be separated (have been abroad for over a year now). Unfortunately, I was laid off from my remote US job last month. I am receiving severance and am eligible to file for unemployment benefits. I understand it will probably be several months until the interview can be scheduled. I believe the Belgrade embassy isn't a busy or high-risk one so maybe it'll be faster.

Anyway, what I'm uncertain of is the I-134 form stuff. I have been considering applying for jobs here in Serbia just so I don't have to touch my savings but from what I understand, income earned here wouldn't count as proper income on the I-134 as it wouldn't be US-sourced. So I am wondering if I should just remain unemployed and apply for the benefits once my severance ends next month? Only problem is I'm not sure when exactly I would be able to move and start employment for the US company..

Would me working in Serbia be suspicious to the officer in the interview? If I remain unemployed, I have enough assets and savings, my W2s/tax returns are stable and high income, and can get one of my parents to be a co-sponsor. And I believe unemployment benefits would count as income for the form. Maybe I should just start applying for US jobs once it's at the NVC or something?

Thanks for any help.

Green Card Holder waiting for Citizenship - Mother has tourist visa...

My husband is a LPR (Green Card Holder) and we would love to have his mom move here from Serbia and help take care of our little girl. My husband is currently in the process of acquiring his US Citizenship, however, in the meantime, we'd love for his mother to come and stay with us. She was granted a 10 year tourist visa in 2022 and has visited a few times. However, this time, we'd like her to stay permanently and apply for Green Card once my husband becomes a US Citizen.

All that to say, she's allowed to stay for 6 months at a time and we hope to know about his citizenship before that 6 months is over. If he gets his Citizenship before her 6 months is up, could we just "adjust her status" to LPR since she would already be in the states or would she have to go back to Serbia and then he would apply for her to get a Green Card that way?

Hi all, as the title says I got my PRC today after 9 1/2 years of waiting.

I have three kids who have follow-to-join status. One of them turned 21 while I was waiting. I heard that since I had a covid set-back my children are eligible to join me through my original F11 petition as F12 even if they are grown up now. My PD was April 20th 2015.

Thanks in advance.
