When do you think routine visa services will resume?

When routine services resume, would it be on a country to country basis or across the board? The proclamation to stop them was across the board so I'm assuming that, combined with lifting of travel restrictions, will cause them to resume?

Also, why are we still blocking the UK/Europe from entering the US when we have so much more community spread? The fact we haven't lifted these restrictions and there hasn't even been a discussion about it, makes me think this is just an excuse to stop immigration. What are we waiting for? For the USA to have covid under control? With how things are going, that could be next year? It's very strange to me, for example, travel between Mexico and the US is allowed and not between UK and the US.

When do people think, things will resume? Does anyone actually think that the August appointments won't be cancelled? It's so difficult to plan life having no idea.

Does anyone know if a British person would have issues getting into the US after spending a few weeks in Mexico? It says they can only not enter the US if they been in one of the banned countries in the past 2 weeks. Since our k1 visa process is suspended we are trying to have him come visit me in the US.

When did you last see your fianc /fianc e? For me it was February. Our March and July interview was cancelled. I'm not super hopeful our August appointment will come through or that the US will drop the travel ban anytime soon. Instead of hoping for the interview, I'm thinking of heading over to the UK for a couple months and just going through with the 2 week quarantine.

UK US embassy post about fiance visa question

The following was posted recently on the us embassy UK site and I notice they answer the question about the fiance visa referring to the presidential proclamation as if it falls into the category of immigrant visas:

https://uk.usembassy.gov/information-for-nonimmigrant-visa-applicants-following-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak/

Will my immigrant or fianc (e) visa case expire?/Can I continue with the application process?

If your application is being processed by the Embassy in London, applicants are given 12 months from the date on which the Embassy s Immigrant Visa Unit writes to them with instructions about the status of their case in which to apply for the visa.

If the case is being processed by NVC and you have questions after checking the information at travel.state.gov and the CEAC account (if applicable), please contact NVC directly using the contact information on that webpage, which includes an online contact form.

If you have been advised that your case file has been forwarded to the Embassy in London, you may refer to our website for an overview of the application procedure, and begin compiling the necessary supporting documents. You may book a medical appointment and proceed with the application process after normal operations have resumed. Please monitor our website for updates.

Under Presidential Proclamation 10014 signed on April 22, the Department of State will not issue immigrant visas, with certain exceptions, for a period of 60 days. Exceptions include lawful permanent residents; immigrants seeking to enter as a healthcare professional; spouses, children, and prospective adoptive children of U.S. citizens; and certain Special Immigrant Visa applicants. Please review the proclamation at Whitehouse.gov for detailed information. If normal operations resume while Presidential Proclamation 10014 remains in effect, it will not be possible for a visa appointment to be scheduled unless you are applying for a category of visa that is excepted under Presidential Proclamation 10014.

Renting Before Applying for AOS from ESTA due to COVID-19

Hi everyone,

My partner and I recently tied the knot on May 30, 2020. Originally we had planned for him to apply for his K-1 when I got my divorce decree and he returned home to the UK from visiting me for Easter. Well, my divorce decree came earlier than we thought it would as I got it the day he landed in the USA. Then, all this COVID-19 stuff had his flights canceled so we figured the stars aligned and we went to get a marriage license and got married a week ago. We are currently getting our I-130 and I-485 packets together to send in ASAP as his ESTA runs out next week and we want him to enter into authorized stay as soon as possible.

One of the evidences that is listed on the checklist on USCIS is a lease with both our names on it. We are currently looking to move out of our friend's place, but I'm wondering how to explain our situation to potential landlords/leasing agents? Seeing as he does not have a SSN yet, I'm worried about getting him on the lease and would love to hear anyone's personal experiences with such a thing. What did you say? How did it go? Where should I be looking?

Thanks so much!
