My wife had her Visa interview back in July and entered the US on a CR1 Visa in August. Last week, she received an I-797c notifying her that she has a Biometric Submission here in Texas. I've searched here and see some messages that say Biometrics are required prior to some visa interviews. Should we be alarmed that it is happening now or is this normal?

Hello, I am an American citizen and my wife is from Russia. She was able to get to the US on a K1 visa. Things have gone well so far. Her 90 days is up in less than a week, and we got married yesterday. We had to hold off on getting married for a few weeks because I lost my job and we had to move. Thankfully, I got a job last week so we are able to fill out the I-485 and I-864. I plan on submitting that before her 90 days runs out. My question is: How is she able to travel by plane in the next few days/months while waiting to hear back about the I-485? All airports check IDs and she doesn't have a SSN yet or any other form of ID except for a passport which will show soon that she has been in the US longer than 90 days, thus potentially creating trouble if there are any TSA agents who look closely. I've been reading about advanced parole but that seems to only apply to people looking to travel outside of the country which is not what we need.

Hello! I am a USC getting married to a woman in asylum proceedings here with a child in November. Once married, will file concurrently for them, following the guides. I had a few things to clarify that were not clear . There are some supporting documents that are the same between both packages, for example certified marriage certificate or photos - do I include two sets of each, one per each form, or just one set for the whole package? And if I am filling for both people at the same time, do I mail everything in one envelope or do I split them up into two separate packages/envelopes? Thanks in advance!

My fiancee finally entered the US on Oct 4th. We went to the SSA office yesterday, and when our number got called, we were informed that when my fiancee entered the country, the govt agency automatically applied for her SSN, and it would show up in 6 weeks. That they didn't want to process anything because someone could end up with two SSN numbers. I believe the clerk automatically assumed we were there on a spouse visa, and from what I read, that is the process for CR1 visas. Everything I have read about a K1 visa is that you have to apply 14 days before the I-94 expires or request an SSN when applying for an AoS. I would like to get her SSN number as soon as possible for a dozen reasons. Is it true that it is auto-applied for, or was this clerk poorly trained and misinformed? If I had thought about it while speaking with the clerk, I would have challenged the information and/or asked for a supervisor. On another note, do we need to wait for something to pop up on the SAVE case check website before going? The clerk tried to enter information from the I-94 and said nothing was coming up but I'm not sure which website or program they were using. I'm not sure if that would have solved the issue either and they would have noticed they were wrong. If anyone could please help with these questions so we could get this extremely important step completed. Thanks!
