I applied for a fianc visa for my now wife and then after we were married applied for her green card. Since then I have had a few friends ask me and my wife for help navigating the visa and green card process, and we have always been happy to help. I have some friends who recently came to me, requesting help with some of their documents. They had their documentation filed by an attorney who was hired by the organization who sponsored them. They are not connected with the organization or the attorney who originally filled everything for them, and they can t afford another attorney. They have a pending I-765, but USCIS sent them a request for evidence. Apparently whoever filed the I-765 left question 30 blank. (Have you EVER been arrested for and/ or convicted of any crime?) They need to find out information from USCIS with regard to this and to set up an account with USCIS, and they wanted me to help them make a call to USCIS because they don t speak very good English. If I am with them, can i help them with contacting USCIS as a third party friend?

Good afternoon everyone, I recently submitted an I-130 via mail on Dec 2022 for my wife who is living overseas . I recently moved on 17 Jan 2023 . Do I need to update my address as the petitioner ? I tried calling the USCIS number and they provided me with a link. I tried connecting my case online using the receipt number but then it asks me for online access code which I do not have . Since I sent it via mail , will I still receive an online access code ? What should I do in the mean time since USCIS wants you to update your address within 10 days ? Thank you for you time .

Hi everyone! My USC husband filed the petition of CR-1 on my behalf on July 29th 2022. I know we are a far way ahead until the case reaches NVC, but I wanted to be prepared when it will. A little history on my behalf: I was a one-year J-1 Exchange Visitor - Hospitality Internship. My programme concluded on 23rd of May 2022. That is the date when I got married. I continued to live with my spouse afterwards for the grace period of 30 days. Due to the summer being absolutely wrecked by Airport Staff shortages I had literally no flight to book for me to go back to Romania because there were none. The earlier I could find was 26th of July, and that incurred a 3 day overstay. (I wanna mention that I had D/S - Duration of Status on my I-95). I could have not adjusted my status for within the US, because I had to go and conclude my studies in my home country which costed me a lot and I didn't want to lose my diploma. In the meantime, I have applied and been granted the I-612 waiver of residence requirement under No Objection. My lawyer has disclosed my unfortunate short overstay to the DHS and they approved the waiver and so did USCIS. My questions are the following: Should I declare the 3 day overstay in the DS-260? Or no? Considering I had D/S status. I believe also they already know since it has been disclosed. There's also a question for fulfilling the residency requirement. Should I say I did not fulfill but I have approved waiver? If I can be guided by somebody, that would be of much help. Thank you very much!

A question came up from a family member that I helped with their N400 application. They have already been naturalized a couple years. They noticed that they incorrectly answered one of the YES/NO questions on their N400 form, specifically the ones in PART 12 #48-50 (as it relates to bearing arms, non-combat service...etc) I don't think the answer impacts their citizenship either way, but it is one of those things that would have been flagged and discussed during the interview, but unfortunately, the wrong answer was provided. They really are bothered by this, so my question is, is there anyway to notify USCIS of this and make a correction on the application? I assume they retain the N400 application on file for some time, and not forever, but I could be wrong. Definitely not a lawyer, and this might be a legal question, but can they cite an answer on your application and legally bind you to do something against your will? My thinking is that people make mistakes all the time on forms and one wrong checkbox is not a huge mistake and can be properly addressed if it ever needed to come the time. Happy to hear people's thoughts on this matter. Thank you.
