Hi guys. I am currently in US visiting my husband, I've been here for the past 2 months on my B2 visa. Me and my husband are traveling to my home country this week for the holidays and I was thinking of returning in two weeks time with him. We have been DQ 2 months ago and are currently waiting for our CR1 interview at the Abu Dhabi embassy. I know that being outside the US for only 2 weeks it is really a short period of time when trying to come back and I would most likely be denied entry again, I would like to hear your thoughts if I should take the chance and come and explain that I am not stupid enough to come and try to overstay my stay and jeopardize my green card application when we waited all this time, spent all those application fees and we're so close to the final step of getting it. I am currently on unpaid leave but I am still employed by a company back in my country of residence where Im due to return to work early next year. Looking forward to hear your opinions! Thanks

I submitted my 129F application to the Dallas lockbox facility on November 2, 2020 via UPS. It shows received at night on November 4th 2020. So far my check has not been deposited / cashed and I have not received any notifications or updates. Anyone could shed some light on the average time for the lockbox facility to start working on my application?

My husband and I were luckily able to file DCF via Paris, though we live in Lisbon, Portugal (Paris embassy has jurisdiction over Portugal when it comes to immigration visas). We are now preparing the DS-260 and soon to schedule the interview. Any other fellow DCF couples who have either filed through Paris or generally in Europe? For those of you who have managed to file DCF during the pandemic, any idea how long the next step takes once the DS-260 is submitted? Thanks and happy to be a part of this community!

My wife and I filed our AOS on September 30th. It was delivered the next day. Our check got deposited 3 weeks later and we got 3 text messages with the receipt numbers. We have USPS Informed Delivery - we get e-mails from USPS everyday with scanned photos of the mail we will receive that day. The emails are always very consistent and accurate. So few weeks ago, we got an email with 3 scanned photos of the USCIS letters along with another unrelated envelope. We were thrilled. So we checked our mailbox and there was only the said unrelated mail envelope. No USCIS envelopes at all. We filed a report with USPS and they said it's normal with the whole COVID situation. I call it (removed) because we ALWAYS got the same mail it says in the email we get that day. We got in touch with USCIS and they said they will get back to us by the last week of November. We have been waiting forever and our worries are getting bigger every day. Just wanted to see if anyone had the same issue and how they had it resolved.

Hello! I have been in a relationship with my portuguese fianc for over 4 years now. We made the decision to begin the process to move him here earlier this year. We chose the K-1, as it made more sense to us than the CR-1 at the time; we are both in our early 20's and in our last year of our respective university programs, and did not want to marry before graduating. The timeline for the K-1 was also appealing to us. In hindsight, we should've considered the pandemic more when making this decision. We filed the I-129f and received the NOA-1 in early September 2020. I now have the option to go visit him in late December/early January, and I am heavily considering dropping the I-129f, getting married, and filing for the CR-1 instead. My reasonings for this are as follows: - We will have more rights to visitation as a married couple during this pandemic.
- We only received our NOA-1 in September 2020, so we are not that far into the process yet.
- If we're going to have to wait until 2022 to be together, we might as well take advantage of the added benefits of the CR-1 -- quicker timeline for employment, leaving the country, etc.
I do plan on consulting with a lawyer, and I know that no one really knows what will happen in the coming months (especially with the current election), but I would like to receive some outside input on whether or not this is an avenue even worth exploring -- I don't need to make the decision for another 2 months, but I'd like to be prepared. Thanks!
