Filing a 400 while waiting for 751 renewal? |

Hello everyone, I'm more than a little confused and am hoping for some advice. My wife (Polish) and I were married in July of '21. We received her green card in January '22, and it expired in January of '24. We applied for renewal in October of 2023 (90 days before expiration) and have yet to hear anything besides the initial receipt and extension. I guess I misunderstood the situation regarding the three year rule of spouses, and realized just now that she can apply for citizenship in July of this year rather than next October (90 days before the next scheduled expiration). My question is, are you allowed to file for citizenship pending a LPR renewal? Is there any special process or filing avenue to take for this, is it even allowed? Thanks a lot, David.

Hello! I'm the beneficiary of the K-1 Visa and will have my medical exam and interview next month. My Fiance is out on deployment currently. We sent out the papers to the USCIS while he was still residing in his old apartment and provided that address as the place where I would be staying with him. The issue here is my fiance no longer resides in that apartment (he'll be getting a new one). I've already filled out the DS-160 form with the same address. Will this be a problem?

Hello, We're approaching the end of our 90 days on the K-1. We have AoS prepared, but have not yet sent it. We have plans to see family that involve flying after the 90 days have ended, but possibly before we get any response regarding our AoS filing. Does going through TSA pose a risk if we've already filed AoS but have no confirmation? We assume going through TSA before filing but after the 90 days is wildly dangerous? Thread with similar circumstances that has us worried below:

K1 - Social Security Name Change Before AoS? |

Posting in K1 subforum, please move elsewhere if not correct. Got a K1 visa, immigrated, got a SSN, got married, have not applied for AoS yet. I'm using a new name after marriage so I went down to the local Social Security Administration office to get a name change on my SSN. The clerk told me that she won't process the name change because I first need to get my name change done with "immigration", which I'm assuming means USCIS and the AoS process. Is there no way to get a new Social Security Card after a K1 marriage but before applying for AoS? We wanted to make this straightforward for insurance, but I guess now I'll have to get on my partner's insurance using my old name, since that's who the card is out to?

Pending I-90 - Still received Reminder to File Form I-751 |

In April 2022, my wife had her appointment for her greencard. At the time of the interview, we were married over 2 years. She was approved for her greencard that day and within 2 weeks she received it. We noticed they had given her a 2-year conditional greencard in error instead of a 10-year card. After confirming with other members on this site (see this post), we filed our I-90 documents online (January 2023) stating that USCIS had made an error. My wife also got her I-551 ADIT stamp at the same time, which expires shortly. My wife has already setup an appointment to renew this, but apparently USCIS is now sending documentation that must be carried with her when we travel outside of the Country and are not doing the stamp. They confirmed that it will expire a year from the date of the original I-551 stamp. The current wait time for an I-90 is 30 months, which is insane, but that's what it is. Yesterday we received a reminder notification from USCIS to file Form I-751. I'm assuming this is an auto-generated email from USCIS and they did not look at her pending I-90 before sending it. We don't plan on filing the I-751. So I have a comment and two questions: - I wanted to confirm that we should just ignore this remider.
- What would happen if USCIS denied the I-90 error? Does the I-551 supercede the original green card expiration date?
