have a few questions after reading though the first 3 pages of forum

1. last name change she wants to change her last name to mine so I know when I do the AOS I can just put my last name but do I also have to go to PH embassy to change it and go to the SS office to change it on the card and PH passport name change? or with the marriage licence will it just be ok?

2. how long will a new PH passport take to come back with the name change?

3. joint bank accounts how much money has to be in the account?

4. do I need paperwork from parents since we are currently living with them for 6 months until we get a house?

5. Does she need a state ID?

6. does she need the updated SS card and passport when applying for the AOS?

filing the adjustment of status next month and paying with credit card. do I put the total in the form for both bio and application fee. or do I use two forms one for bio and one for application fees?

I'm researching airplane tickets on the "Cheap-O-Air" website. There are a couple of daily flights non-stop between Manila & LAX. They don't surface in the regular web search and so I wonder how many people actually know about them. It seems to me that option would be more popular so maybe there's a reason it isn't. Does anybody have any experience with this? I'm also wondering how much layover time to allow in LAX to clear customs. Thanks for any answers.

I am a US citizen,my wife is a LPR we wish to bring her daughter and son to live here in the US both of her children are unmarried and over 21 Can i file the petition or is my wife required to do this? the instructions on this form are rather confusing as to who can and can not petition. thanks for the help

My wife has been waiting on her SSN since June. We've made 6 trips to the SSA since then. Each time being told we're "pending verification." We have a letter from the SSA to any potential employer showing my wife is authorized to work and that she can begin work while the SSN is pending, however after so many interviews now... every place we've tried refuses to hire her without the SSN. This latest trip to the SSA we got a different answer. We were told that her green card and work authorization cards do not match in their category. One is C09 (work authorization) and one is CF1 (green card.) We were told they'd be canceling our application from their system due to the fact that they can't work the application properly until this discrepancy is corrected. We were told to contact DHS. We got in touch with USCIS just recently and we were transferred through them to a DHS tier 2. The tier 2 told us that the National Benefits Center will need to correct this error and that it will be 15 days or more before they can give us a call. All of this seems so unnecessary. Her name on all of the documents match. The only thing I can think of is that since we've applied twice (once before the marriage which never seemed to go anywhere, and once after where they insisted the name must match the passport) it may have caused a mess in the system. Reading online it appears the category for the green card and for the work authorization are in NO WAY related and so therefore I feel like the information I was given last was wrong. What should I do?
