US Immigration from Philippines

Hello, I am currently in the Philippines with my fianc e. I am wondering if I can apply for Alien Work Permit while we wait for our NOA2? Will I need to go to DOLE in BGC? Has anyone done this process before? Thanks in advance

Does anybody have the same situation as mine? My case was actually CR1 and currently our case is still at NVC. I have already a case number. Today, I send an email to NVC and attaching the death certificate of my husband.

As far as I understand, nvc will convert my approved petition from I-130 to I-360(Widow visa).How many days maybe does the nvc will respond? I havent paid the fees yet because it is still CR-1.

My wife arrived in the USA about 4 weeks ago. During the CR-1 process, we clearly stated we wanted a Social Security card sent to our domicile address. In talking to other Filipinas, my wife was told it usually took about 2 weeks to arrive. The Social Security website says to contact them if it hasn't arrived after 3 weeks. We tried to call the number listed and we go a recording saying there is nobody to talk to and to call back another time...each time we called back we got the same message after listening to a couple of minutes of information we had no interest in.

We finally went down to a local social security office and we were told they have no record of my wife applying for a card. We showed them the documentation saying that she had, at which time the person helping us agreed it should be there but shrugged and said "maybe I just can't find it". He then said we could apply for a new one and get it in 5-7 business days. We filled out a form to which he entered into the system, and sent it to homeland security. He then said..."there seems to be a problem. Call me back in 2 weeks and I'll let you know the status of things." He then stated it would take several weeks after that to get a card. Not sure what happened to the 5-7 days, but I'm sure all of my wife's documentation was 100% in order, and there shouldn't be any issues.

My wife is waiting to start work at job, and this process is getting frustrating. It will end up costing her a least a month of time she should be working. Any ideas how to expedite things? The guy helping us said there was a way to get a temporary card while waiting for ours to arrive, but couldn't remember the details of getting one. A google search turned up nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! It s me again

I just want to ask about some parts of the DS-160. To be sure! It always helps me calm down when I get answers from people here.

1. My fianc s address is 220 1/2 Something St. . However it doesn t let me use / , will it be fine to put 220.5 instead?

2. I was in the US for a year for my J1 internship, 2 days before it started, and left on my 28th day of grace period after the program. However, when it asks for my length of stay, I can only choose between year, month, weeks, etc. It s a total of 13 months (with the grace period) but I didn t think about this the time I filled out a DS160 (I clumsily put 1 year only) when I applied for a B2 visa. Will this be a problem? I just realized now.

3. On the part where I have to explain why I was refused a visa (B2), can I just put what s written on the blue sheet ( under INA 214(b) )?

4. Not about DS-160, but what I put on the I-129F. I gave them my travel history found on the CBP website, and I followed it on my sheet of explanation of my initial and amended DS-2019 and grace period but just realized that the departure date was inaccurate. It showed that I left the US on 1/15/19, a day later than I actually did (1/14/19). I still have the boarding pass but it s not in good condition anymore. I sent them an e-mail and their automated response mentioned that they won t change anything on the travel history as they only do that for corrections on I-94. Also, I found this FAQ on their website...

Should I mention this during the interview?

I know, I m probably doing what I do best overthinking lol but I just want to be sure because I don t want them to think that I lied or something.

It is nice to be back here! I already obtained my 10yr greencard last August 2019. Planning to get my citizenship in the next two years. But my question is, my husband petitioned I-130 for my 10yo daughter last June 2019 and we just got approved two days ago.(Yehey!!) What is next after approval? Should I wait NVC for her medical? And also does she undergo an interview too?
