My Case at NVC-CR1 to Widow Visa

Hello Guys,

basically my case is CR1(Same sex) and our case is still at nvc. bad things happened and my husband died two days ago. I already send a copy of death cert of my husband last Dec15,2019.after sending i realized that there was an error on his birth date.

Instead of 07/02/1961 it was written as 07/21/1961. I contacted the funeral homes and then they send the corrected death cert and then I send it again to NVC.

My questions are:

-does the nvc will just convert my cr1 to widow visa? I called nvc and asked about my case but the agent is not sure too whether it has to go back to uscis for reinstatement or not.

-in some other groups, mostly they are saying that nvc will just convert it directly to widow visa which I am hoping.

TIA.

Problematic Case: Petitioner not in US

Hi! I have a pretty complicated case and I would greatly appreciate some insights from you, guys here at VJ...I was born in a US Territory (That's how I got a US citizenship and a US passport) but have lived in the Philippines most of my life. I am now married, we have a daughter and another baby on the way. Someone offered to help get us to the US by being our joint sponsor way back 2018. We started the paperwork for my husband and my daughter and got an approved petition on March 2019 then a case number by May 2019. Due to certain circumstances, we stopped processing and thought that our joint sponsor can no longer help us but just this January 2020, she wanted us to push through with our application and paid the visa fees and the AOS fees for my husband and daughter. A travel consultant have been assisting us since we started the process and gave us hope that we have a chance of getting approved even though I have never been to mainland US and am currently residing in the Philippines. He said he would assist me in processing for dual-citizenship or recognition as a Filipino citizen so I wouldn't have a problem with the Philippine Immigration for "overstaying". As for the affidavit of support, a joint sponsor who is in the US would suffice. To make things more problematic, I just learned that this travel consultant passed away last year. Taking his place is another person who told us that US immigration have been stricter and a lot of changes have been implemented. Since we also have a baby on the way, we need to work on another petition. I was told that processing times have been longer and in most cases, the petitioner has to be in the US with a stable job to get approved for a visa. Our goal is to move together at the same time if there's a way. Is this a hopeless case? Thanks in advance!

So I was reading my cover letter for the AOS package that we sent yesterday and instead of writing DS 3025 (overseas vaccination), I wrote form I693. Am I gonna get an RFE because of this?

thanks!

Question about writing/addressing the personal check for I-485 payment

Yesterday we sent my AOS and husband wrote the check payment (personal) in the amount of $1225. He wrote I-485 application fee of (My Name) on the memo line of the check. I just read the guide here that it s written as I-485 application AND BIOMETRICS FEE of (My Name) meaning the biometrics fee is also written. I wonder if not putting that part will result to any problem?

Thanks!

Interview Cancelled, Received Denial Notice

I'm so stressed out right now! I received a call that my interview got cancelled a week before my interview coz they haven't received my documents yet from their main office and they will mail me new letter for my new schedule. After a week of my original schedule, I received a denial notice for not showing up on my interview. It states I can file to reopen my case or I need to leave the country within 33 days and my working permit and travel ID are no longer valid. I'm still waiting for their return call. I want to visit the Fresno branch but sadly they don't accept walk in request or infopass appointments. Do I have to file Notice of Appeal or Motion (Form I-290B) though it's not my fault? Can I visit and make other infopass appointment in other branch instead?
