Hello everyone,

Hope is everyone doing well. My sister priority date is current on DATES ON FILING VISA APPLICATION and she falls under F1 Category (Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizen). I was wondering if we need to call the NVC to follow up her welcome letter so she can start submitting the required documentation and pay the fees to process her visa? Or do we have to wait until her priority date become current at FINAL ACTION DATE?

Apparently the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation has come out stating that ALL overseas Filipinos are required to pay a premium to them starting this year, regardless of whether they are an enrolled member of PhilHealth or not. See below:

While it would somewhat make sense that it include OFWs due to healthcare contracts and negotiations between agencies and employers in other countries (still crazy given the extent everyone is suffering through the current pandemic), I don't understand how they can mandate payment for someone who is a non-member of PhilHealth, permanent resident in another country and not employed as an OFW under any such agency/employer working in coordination with the Philippines. OFWs aren't the only party they specifically name--they go on to include Filipinos with dual citizenship and any Filipinos living abroad (and those on vacation even--good grief!). Can someone explain a) whether K-1 --> Green Card spouses truly apply to this mandate and b) how in the world PhilHealth could ever enforce this if applicable?

Hopefully I'm just reading too much into this, but I wanted to hear what the rest of the group knows about it, if anything. There's currently petitions being signed by tens of thousands of OFWs on Change.org, so it seems to be quite a big deal.

Hello po! Im confused, K1 exempted or not in the Proclamation?

We are in the interview and waiting stage but Manila Embassy will going to open in April 30 but not until May 4 as normal working days. There are few areas in Luzon that are still under strict lockdown until May 14 or 15 because they have more cases. My question is that true that Manila Embassy is not going to accept appointments until June?

Hope you guys doing well. I do have a question regarding on submitting Affidavit of Support. My father filed a petition for my sister back in 2011 and she is under F1 category (Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizen). Her priority date will be current soon and we are preparing all the required documentation. Since my father did not meet the minimum income requirement and I will be the joint sponsor for my sister. Does my father still need to complete the I-864EZ? or we have to do both I-864EZ and I-864? Your responses would be highly appreciated.
