Has anyone ever made their appointments for CFO before receiving visa and then returning for the sticker. With 5 of us it would make this Manila travel so much easier.

Eligible for I-130, but applying for a B1/B2 instead.

Hello!

I am considering petitioning for my mom, only because she has been denied a tourist visa when she renewed it.
She previously held a 10-year tourist visa and used it twice to visit me. She stayed for 4 months during her first, and the second, which was a few years later, was 5 months. Apparently, these long visits seems to be an issue during her renewal interview.

I am a US citizen, and I can just easily -although a lengthy process- to petition my mom, but she does not want to immigrate here. She only wants to come visit.

I guess my question is: I am not familiar with the rules of the I-130. Is this even a good idea to pursue this if she only wants to visit? The visit may only be once or twice every 2 years for 1-2 mos, if that. What steps does she need to take to maintain her status if we go this route? What are your thoughts?

N400 RFE Response Period Expired

Hello, I was asked for RFE after my May 1, 2024 combo I-751/N400 interview. I wanted to gather as much evidence as possible so I held off on submitting it until the last day. It said BY June 4, which in my understanding is, anytime before 12:00 am June 5. When I logged in to upload my documents this early morning (June 4), I was mortified to see that it notes that I have missed my deadline. I uploaded all my files just the same by clicking on upload unsolicited evidence , as this was what replaced the original respond with evidence button. Is this a cause for worry? Should I speak to Customer Service, and what number do I reach them? If it was a glitch, can I upload more files before midnight?

Case "touches"

Aloha,

I was reading a very old post (2008 I think), and they we're discussing a K1 case being "touched". I read this to mean as something as trivial as it being moved from one bin to another - or it could indicate something more significant. Are "touches" still a thing and it so, how do we know if we been "touched"?

Mahalo,

Bill and Dina

60 Day Letter from NVC

Got this in my email today. I guess this means it won't be much longer until I can start scheduling things? (I omitted my MNL number, FYI):

To whom it concerns:

This notice is to inform you that NVC is currently holding your approved Form I-129F (Petition for Alien Fiance(e)), and it has been at least 60 days since we received it from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). Your case number is MNL----------------.

Where local conditions and restrictions allow, some embassies and consulates have resumed processing a limited visa workload, including K-1 nonimmigrant visa applications. For embassies and consulates that were unable to resume processing their visa workload, NVC is holding your approved Form I-129F. We cannot predict when routine visa services will resume, and we cannot guarantee or predict when your case will be sent to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General in Manila. When NVC does forward your case, you will receive another notification.

Approved Forms I-129F have a 120-day expiration date from the date of approval by USCIS. Once your designated embassy or consulate resumes normal operations, a consular officer will revalidate your petition for another 120 days. You do not need to take any action for this revalidation to happen, though you may need to provide evidence that you still qualify for the K-1 nonimmigrant visa. For the most up-to-date information about the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General's operating status, visit their website at https://usembassy.gov.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
National Visa Center Director
