Vaccine requirement for foreigners lifted

It appears that the Philippines no longer requires foreigners to be vaccinated to enter. The only requirement for unvaccinated people is a rapid covid test before departure. Also no one is required to quarantine any longer. Thought this info might be useful to some people here. We are going December 10th and this happened just in time for us. The Philippines airlines website has been updated to reflect the changes.

Sending money--again!

SORRY! I know this is oft-repeated question but I have not found anything recent (aka last year or so). Most of you know that Joan and I are moving to the Philippines when I retire next year (I just posted some replies to someone else who is thinking about the same thing!) Our house(s) (duplex) are moving along beautifully and on schedule (and have already survived two earthquakes and a typhoon, so we got lucky and found a terrific architect/builder.) We are scheduled to start paying for the second half of the project next month--which is a hunk of change even spread over ten month. We stand to save a lot of money with the current and projected exchange rates and we want to get the best we can. So, here is the oft-asked question: Who do you use (now) to send money? We have used:

Xoom--stupidly expensive for the kind of money we need to send with a lousy exchange rate

Remitly--Our current choice. Reliable, reasonably fast, not "fees" for transfers over $1K, clear daily, monthly and 6 monthly limits (which fit our needs), BUT not the best exchange rate (even 1 PHP per $ could save us a LOT of money)

WU--Better exchange rate even with the debit card fees (I understand that there are no fees bank to bank, but I even WU said they would be cautious giving the actual bank account information!), but we have had problems with transfers going through with them before and they don't tell you what your transmittal limits are ("You will know each time you log in." Yeah, but what if I need to make a house payment and you tell me I have reached my limit!)

Wise--Wise has been highly recommended on this site. I opened an account and found their fees to be more than I want to pay.

Has anyone used XE or World Remit? I've read ok things about them, but...I trust all of you.

Salamat as always!

Is it normal and customary to apply for all three of these documents at the same time? Trying to get this done in the easiest and fastest time possible. Are there other documents that should be done first? TIA.

With the 2-factor identification, I have to give my wife a code each time for her to log in. Is there a way to give access to my wife to our USCIS online account through her email? Can she create her own account and then just add our cases and if so would she have access to the files I uploaded?

Retire in the Philippines?

Hi Everyone! Been awhile!

My filipina wife and I are approaching our 5th anniversary. We had applied for her US Citizenship. We are talking about retiring in the Philippines, on some farm land in a year or two. I've been researching

all the paperwork needed for spousal immigrant Visa because I want to be ahead of the curve before (and when) with filing on time. She says because I am a spouse I can have my name as co owner of the property. Doesn't matter to me one way or the other. My question is.. What is the situation if my wife passes before me? Do I need to leave at the end of the immigrant visa? Is there actually an expiration date for the immigrant visa? Just want to get my ducks in a row. Thanks for reading!
