Petition my mom and 2 brothers now? OR Wait for my mom's eligibility to petition my 2 brothers, herself? |

Hello everyone! I am a conflicted with a decision I have to make, asap. Would appreciate your advice on this case. I am a US Citizen looking to petition my 63 yo mom and two 30+ yo brothers over. I know which is the faster petition route, but unsure if I should take it due to my mother's age and declining health. My 2 brothers are still single and over 30 yo. My mother is 63 years old with health fast declining due to diabetes and depression. I am a single-parent of four, sending 1 child to college, and another following suit in a year. Short Route: Petition my 63 yo mother first, and wait for her to petition my two 30+ yo brothers later. If this is the route we take, it will take my mom 1-3 years to complete immigration process and become a permanent resident, and it will take an additional 5-10 years (or even more) for my brothers to get their visas. My apprehension? I am unsure if my mom will live long enough to complete the process. If she lives long enough, that's great! Otherwise, we'll be back to square one--which I cannot afford. Should I take my chances? Long Route: Petition my mom and 30+ yo brothers at the same time. I have no worries about my mom's petition. I can have her here in a year or two. However, it will take my brothers at least 15 years (and in most cases 26 years on average) to wait for their visas. That's a long wait. By the time they get here, they'd be 60+ years old and starting over with their careers, with not enough retirement savings. My goal is to empower my mom and brothers, so they can stand on their own two feet. If you were me, which route will you take and why? Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone, my mom just finished her interview. She was asked to submit more documents as a proof that she is a legitimate person and that we are related and I am her daughter. This is due to her birth certificate was late registered. So her additional requirements to submit includes both of our previous or late IDs, baptismal certificates, school records, baby book, hospital records, etc. My question is what is a baby book? Is it a record of vaccines? What if we don't have a record of vaccine, what will be our other option to replace this document? This is the only one that we are missing out. Thank you for your help!

Hi Everyone, I would like to inquire if it is possible to make a travel outside the Philippines (Tour) while waiting my Interview Schedule. Can this affect my long awaited petition?. I was Documentarily Qualified last 08-Sep-2022, the NVC sent me an email notice last 08-Nov-2022 informing me that they will contact me the next 60 days to inform whether or not there would be an appointed schedule. Also, I did not receive a welcome letter (Hard copy) only email with Subject: Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation containing my NVC Case Number and Invoice ID Number. Is this considered as my welcome letter? Will appreciate any advise/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

Hello everyone. I hope someone can answer my questions. This K1 visa is not for me, but for my son's fianc e. My son (USC) filed for K1 for his fianc e, who has been his girlfriend since he was about 13 yrs old. They're both 26 yrs old now. The filing date of the petition was on August 30, 2021, and they have not seen each other for 2 years before that because of Covid restrictions. My son also was working and graduated from College ( Oct 2021). Today, we received an RFE. Has anyone used Covid as a reason for the missing 2 year period?

I understand one must reaquire Philippine citizenship after naturalizing in the US but my question is what measures are in place to make sure this is done? What prevents newly naturalize US citizens from entering and leaving the Philippines on their unexpired Philippine Passport. I know you must exit and enter the US with yiur new US Passport (now that you re a US citzen) but what really prevents the use of the old Philippine passport if it hasn t yet expired. Thank you.
