Hello,

My wife and I are US citizens and we live in the Philippines, she is dual citizen. We are in the middle of the adoption process for our son. He is filipino and will continue to live with us in the Philippines.

Does anyone know the steps to give him US citizenship? He will not live in the US unless he decides after age 18.

I see N-600K, I-800A, I-800 forms but what is required since he will not live in the US? We will get a B2 visa if he needs to do an interview in the US.

B-2, Mother in Law trying again (denied the first time)

My wife has been in the US since September of Covid and a LPR since October of 21, applying for citz next year. She's due with our baby in Oct/Nov. I thought it would be a good idea for her mom to visit us for a few months over the birth time to help out. Pinoy interviewer in Manila denied her. I had told her she needs to get her file of 'stuff' to the interviewer because he won't ask for it. That didn't happen so we want to try again and this time she knows to get the file to the interviewer. Force it on them if she has to because without it, there's nothing to show the required "compelling reasons to return to the Philippines."

Anyway, I go to sign in and select New Application, NIV, B-2...and the info is already there including the DS-160 AA confirmation #. And then it wants me to pay the fee. This seems too easy. I know that nothing has actually changed on the DS-160 but being a gov't system I would expect them to want an entirely new submission. Is this correct?, just pay again with the same DS-160 number? Seems to me someone would look up the number, see it was already denied and deny it again without interview.

Hello,

Im a USA citizen. Living in the states for a little over 8 years. I am pregnant with my first baby and I will be due end of this year. I will get my 74yo mom tourist visa. She is a senior citizen. She is in the Philippines. I would like her to be here in the states with me when I deliver my baby. Does anyone here applied recently for tourist visa for parents? Do they still need a medical and interview?
Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.

Conditional Permanent Resident and PH Immigration Offloading Issue

Hi everyone,

I've been reading several (horror) stories about PH immigration offloading or holding up Philippine passport holders unreasonably at the airport to the point that they miss their flights. I'm currently visiting my family here in the Philippines for the first time since I got my conditional US permanent residency (green card) and I'm a bit anxious dealing with PH immigration when I return to the US especially since I'm a female traveling alone. (Unfortunately my partner wasn't able to join me for this trip because of work commitments.) Would anyone here who has/had a conditional green card and traveled to the Philippines before be able to share their experience with PH immigration when you returned to the US? What was your experience like? May I know what questions and documents the PH immigration officer asked you? I was hoping to prepare as best as I could before my flight back to the US.

Thank you so much!
