What if I don’t pay taxes because my income is non-taxable?

I am at the tail end of the K-1 visa process. I have created a DS-134 for my fianc to submit at the interview with a letter of explanation. We will see how that goes.

i am a disabled veteran. I get monthly disability checks from the VA, and that money is non-taxable. I also receive SSI, and at tax time, my AGI is below taxable levels. So the IRS refuses to accept a tax return from me. So I have no tax transcripts for the last 5 years.

I wrote all this in a letter of explanation to accompany the DS-134, along with benefit letters from the VA and the SSA. I sent letters from the banks detailing my savings and the deposits into those accounts. I hope that will suffice for the K-1. My gross income is well above the required level for sponsorship.

My question comes because the AOS seems to be much stricter on the income requirements and I am just wondering if you folks have suggestions on the paperwork I should start gathering.

i am 62 years old and worked and paid taxes for over 45 years, just not in the last 5 years.

Thank you for your time.

Sealed vs Opening up Japanese Police Clearance for NVC stage ...

My wife lived in Japan for a few years and we just received its police clearance in the Philippines. Do we (for those that experienced the same thing) open up the police clearance and scan it, or do we scan the envelope and upload it to NVC?

We're scared opening up the clearance will invalidate it and having to get another clearance will either take a long time or not possible at all.

I am filing DS-160 for my fianc . She has 2 children that will accompany her. I know I have to file a separate DS-160 and pay fees, for each one. K2 for the children.

Do I need to make separate interview appointments for each person, or can the children go to my fianc s interview with her?

Will rescheduling my biometrics appointment twice hurt my application?

I filed my N-400 last August 30th and received a notification today that I was scheduled for a biometrics appointment on September 20th.

I just flew from LAX to MNL 2 days ago and wasn't expecting it to come so soon. It looks like I can reschedule this appointment online but the latest it can reschedule is for October 6th.

I called the USCIS contact center and the agent wasn't super helpful. They told me they can't submit a request to reschedule. I can choose to call them 12 hours before the appointment date and time and they can submit a request to reschedule to USCIS but they will take 30 days to respond to this. They can't guarantee that my application won't be dismissed.

Does anybody have previous experience with rescheduling twice online? I was thinking I should reschedule for October 6th and hope that the next time I reschedule, it will show me dates up to October 20th, which is when I would arrive back in Los Angeles. Will this plan work or will it hurt my application in any way?

Thanks!

Status after K1, but before approved I-485

My apologies if this has been covered, I searched but unable to locate anything...

What is the status of a k1 visa holder after they are married and have filed for adjustment of status (all within the original 90 days) but have do not have an approved I-485.

Technically, the K1 visa is no longer valid or will expire within the 90 days.

I ask because the state I am in (Idaho) says they can't issue an ID card or DL unless there is lawful status.

The Idaho DMV states that once the party is married, the K1 is no longer valid and are unable to do anything until the green card is issued.

Thanks,!
