We just received the horrible news yesterday. After doing the sputum testing, my fiance got a call 3.5 weeks after the last sample that she needs to go to SLMC to meet a doctor. We are assuming that the sample is positive. She is 26. After hearing she needs sputum testing 2 months ago we got an X-ray and went to another doctor for a TB test that both showed negative. From what I read, there is a very low probability of a 26 year old contracting TB. She also has no symptoms. Can you please tell me about the process from here? Is it really 6 months of treatment followed by another full medical and sputum testing for 2 months? Is there any way around this? I'm so tired of waiting that if more effort or money is involved to speed up the process, I would do pretty much anything at this point.

Hello, My mother-in-law (LPR) petitioned for her son (F2A). NVC is asking her for I864. Since she does not have any income, I will be completing as joint sponsor. I more than enough to meet the poverty guidelines. Since my wife and I file taxes jointly, I was going to have her complete I864A. Two questions: 1. Would my wife also be considered a sponsor and would that change my selection in Part 1, 1d (I am the only sponsor) to 1e (I am the first/second of two joint sponsors? 2. On the I864 and I864A where it asks for "my total adjusted gross income", the tax transcripts combine both my spouse and I. Would I list what it has for both of us on both forms?

I am looking for insights into what others have experienced with the tourist visa interview for their family members. They got a few more weeks till their interview, but just seeing if I am missing anything. MIL works for the area gov't in her province and FIL has his own business. So they are pretty much like middle class in PH standards. They are also in the process of also doing a proper adoption of their son which they have informally adopted since the original mother and father abandoned the child at birth. They are a year in that process.

Hi, Filipino fianc here. Our embassy location is at Manila. My American fianc received an email this February 27 stating the NVC is forwarding the petition to the US Embassy in Manila. We are under the impression this isn t the welcome letter we are supposed to receive that gives us the green light on filling out DS-160. We haven t received any other letters or emails as of now, but I checked our case status on CEAC and it says case ready. Is it advisable to wait for the welcome letter before submitting DS-160? Or is our case status being ready already good enough for us to submit the DS-160?
