Hello, This is my first post on this forum. Me and my fianc first met on Instagram last year around August. However, we didn t really start talking until January when she saw that I was on vacation in Philippines (her home country). We decided to meet in in February, and basically was love at first sight. I spent a week there and then flew her to Cebu to meet my family and she spent two weeks there until I flew back to the US. We ve been together officially since end of February and we both decided we want to spend the rest of our lives together shortly after. I actually asked her to marry me April 4 over FaceTime but promised her I would do an actual proposal when I see her in person again. We want to go ahead and start the process of a K-1 especially knowing the long timeline of the process but we re worried our short relationship will be a red flag. I was thinking that by the time she gets an interview, the relationship will be well over a year and a half. Do the consulate officers take that into account? Currently, we have a good amount of evidence of a genuine ongoing relationship. (Pictures, gift receipts, iMessage logs, video chat logs, FaceTime screenshots, etc.) but the relationship is short, and I ve only seen her in person once. She has photos with my family as well. I m not sure if any of this matters if the short duration of the relationship will come into question. Any advice on this situation would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just received a notice that all my documents were accepted but not my I-864EZ. Here is the message received: "[Name does not qualify to use Form I-864EZ. Please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864 to complete a Form I-864 to replace this. FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial sponsors, joint sponsors, and applicants should be aware of responsibilities when signing an I-864 and the consequences for a sponsored immigrant's acceptance of federal means-tested public benefits. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos." I just re-read the I-864EZ instructions and I am perplexed. Completely perplexed and do not understand why I cannot use I-864EZ. I am only filing for one person (my spouse) and am the ONLY SPONSOR. I am above the income requirements BY FAR and they accepted ALL of my tax transcripts and W-2s which CLEARLY SHOW I am above the guidelines. Has anyone ever ran into this before any have any suggestions?

I'm trying to decide which VPN service would be best for use both within and from outside of Philippines (I travel back and forth from US to PHL). NordVPN looks good, but they don't have any servers in PHL. ExpressVPN also looks good. I would want to be able to stream local PHL content and use banking websites, etc. from the US and vice-versa. Online encrypted storage and a good password manager would also be a plus. NordVPN, ExpressVPN, or a different one?

I have been reading through the financial requirements and while I am feeling confident that I wouldn't be impacted it occurred to me to ask. When they are calculating your finances and ability to take care of your foreign fianc are debts like mortgages, credit cards bills, etc counted as well? Those things change disposable income and ability to take care of dependents no?
