Hi! My Father-in-Law's application was approved by the NVC and we believe it's in the queue to be sent to the consulate in Manila for appointment scheduling. NVC informed her mid April that this was the next step. So far, radio silence. So, I have a few questions that I hope you can help us with! First, what is a typical, current, timeline from NVC approval to scheduling? Second, I remember scheduling my wife's appointment after receiving the MNL case number to speed up the process from the typical scheduling timeline. We've created an account to TRY, but so far no luck. The message keeps saying there is no case# currently at the consulate. Is this "work a around" still a thing or do we HAVE to wait for them to schedule? Third, I know they do not send out any "snail mail" to us regarding the scheduling, but do they send both the applicant and petitioner an email saying they scheduled the interview appointment? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you! Mike

I have a few questions - Please forgive me if these are redundant, I have searched the forums and have not found solid answers for these questions. Our 90 day date for Jaycel's K-1 Visa is November 27, 2024. We are getting married on October 25, 2024 and plan to submit out AOS packet (I-485, I-864 & I-765) on November 18, 2024. We believe that this will allow us time to get certified copies of our marriage certificate, gather appropriate evidence of our marriage and co-habitation, co-mingling of finances, etc. My questions are as follows... 1. I have read that filing the AOS package before expiry of her K-1 Visa is highly recommended so that she is not out of status after the visa's expiration. Does the NOA-1 from the I-485 provide this status? Not sure how that works. If we file on the 18th of November, is that far enough in advance of her visa expiration on the 27th of November? I just do not want to put her in any jeopardy. 2. Since she is coming in on a K-1 and filing her I-485 within a year of her immigrant medical exam (That was done in Manila on August 6th & 7th) she is exempt from having to do another one. I have read that all she has to do is include her DS-3025 in the I-485 packet with a cover letter explaining she had her immigrant medical within one year and voluntarily complied with all vaccine requirements as indicated in the attached DS-3025. I have also read that she should make an appointment with a Civil Surgeon to have him fill out the vaccine portion of the I-693 based on the DS-3025 and include the sealed I-693 with the I-485. Which one is correct? Thank you all in advance for your time providing any advice, answers, direction that you can!

I know there are lots of yt on the questions but is there a pdf or txt file? I'm thinking it would be easier for my wife to study if I broke it up into 10 question blocks rather than throwing the whole 100 at her. Thanks

My husband and I have been together for 3 years, married for 1 year. I am from the Philippines and he is a US citizen. We filed I-130 in June 2024. I am currently in the US visiting him for 7 weeks (B2 visa) and on extended leave from work. This is my 3rd time coming here, first time as his wife. We got married last year on my 2nd visit but left shortly after for my job. When I entered the US this time, they put me through second screening, asked if we already filed a petition, and was told it is important that I go back home and continue the process there. The first 2 times I visited was smooth, I was coming in from the UK as I used to work there. I have a clean record and no history of overstay in any of the countries I've visited before. When I came here, my intention was really to just visit and come back. I have a return flight booked, didn t bring a lot of important documents and belongings, only on leave from my job. Now that we re together, we re really dreading the day we ll be apart again and counting down the days. I didn t know you could switch to AOS after already starting consular processing and just found out now that we re looking if there is an option to stay together. Continuing the process in PH will take roughly 2 more years. We ve been in LDR from the beginning of our relationship. This is probably the last time I m visiting as a tourist as I really don t want to risk getting denied entry. Is it possible for me to adjust status despite what they told me at the border? Is it going to affect my application negatively? Or should I just go home? We have a pretty straightforward case so I don't want to complicate anything. We just want to know if it is even an option without risking denial. We used SimpleCitizen when we filed and have a consultation we haven t used so we might ask an attorney, but just wanted to hear from anyone with the same experience. Thanks!
