Hi! Petitioner here. Context: Originally, when I filed my taxes with a CPA and on my own for the past few years, the total income for each year fall 50% below the i864p poverty guideline. But I showed my tax documents to a different CPA today. He realized I've been filing wrong all these years. My total income for every year should actually be around $36000 for every year, which is $10,000 above the poverty line! So, the current CPA recommended that I amend all my federal tax returns for the past few years and send the amended forms to the NVC so that I will not need a joint sponsor. However, I've been DQ'd just yesterday, my original 3 tax forums have already been submitted to the NVC, and the NVC requested that "may" need to find a joint sponsor. I have not received the interview letter yet. Questions: 1) Would it be wise to follow the current CPA's advice? 2) Won't the Interviewer be suspect of the amendments? Or will the interviewer accept the amendments? 3) Should I contact NVC regarding my situation? Or is there a likelihood that they'll see my situation as a red flag? 4) Will amending tax forms delay the NVC process by months and months? 5) Even having earned $36000 per year for all three years and its anticipated for 2025, should I still have a joint sponsor? Thanks in advance for answering these questions!

Please some one help me. I am pulling out my hair what I have left. I can not get answers from the national Visa Center at all and my time is ticking away. I got the I-797 approval for my fiance in the Philippines and it told me to wait for a interview date and medical date. I got the I-797 back in May 2025 and it expires in Sept 2025, my time is ticking and I can not get any answers from any one about what am I suppose to do next. I got on the web site and it said it can not proceed on till all fees have been paid, I go to see if I have to pay any thing and it gives me the run around and takes me back to the beginning, then I try to see if there is some thing I am not seeing and it goes all over again to the same thing. HELP HELP.

Hi, my wife just got DQ'd! But a few questions: -
Because I (the original sponsor & petitioner) already submitted an i864 pre-DQ, is my joint sponsor limited to filling out another i864 form? Or can the joint sponsor, my mother, who is under the same household as I am, fill out the i864a? -
If my mother fill out the i864a, does that mean I need to adjust some information under my original i864 (ie. add my mother's name into the original form)? Or is that unnecessary at this point, post DQ? -
Because mom barely understands English, I'm able to fill out most of the form on her behalf, right? She just needs to sign it and provide evidence of her financial situation?

My fianc e completed her interview last week and was verbally informed the visa was approved. Today we checked our visa status on CEAC. It says "APPROVED" on the top, with the following message below: "The consular officer has approved your application subject to final processing by the consular section that is necessary to issue your visa. When that processing is complete, the status will change to "Issued". However, a final screening step must still be completed prior to issuance that could lead a consular officer to conclude that you are not eligible for a visa. If that occurs, the consular officer will notify you that your application has been denied and your status will change to "Refused". 1. Did anyone else receive the same message? Is this standard? 2. What is the "final screening step" ? 3. Is this screening step something either of us needs to be involved with, i.e. physically go somewhere and/or submit additional documents ? 4. How will be be notified in the event further action on our part is required? Thanks.
