Hello, everyone. I m currently on a j1 visa right now and I met someone in the military and we re planning to get married. I noticed something on my visa.

I am subjected to 212(E) but I wasn t under any special skill list on my country nor received government funding to go here in US.
The only option I m looking into is the advisory opinion because my country (Philippines) does not do waiver.
Is there any other option that I might be missing other than the advisory opinion?

Thank you so much!

My wife met a lady in Manila at her immigrant seminar, She was a K 1 visa immigrant applicant. Both are in Oregon. Later, after her arrival, she discovered he is not the man of her dreams. He is an alcoholic and a mean vicious drunk. As far as we know, so far only verbally abusive. She did not want to get married but to go home. He convinced her she had to marry because they had a pre ceremony wing vow. Now we find out extensive criminal record. She seems afraid to ask for help. Is this something I should contact USCIS about

Do we have to bring both the updated AND old I864 to the interview?

Long story short, we uploaded our documents to CEAC back in January prior to the 2022 tax deadlines so it used the years 2019-2021. Now we need to bring I864s updated with 2022. Should we bring both versions or is only the updated I864 necessary?

Visitors Medical Insurance for In-Laws

Good news - my wife's parents and brother miraculously received 10-year multiple entry tourist visas, so they're coming from Philippines to the USA to visit!

My concern is medical insurance for them while visiting, due to the obscene cost of medical care in the USA. I have been exploring different companies, quotes, etc. and there are a plethora of different plans covering (and excluding) things I never thought of and some things I never even knew existed.

Does anybody out there have any experience with travelers' medical insurance for visiting the US, particularly with claims. Many of these policies offer "reimbursement" for medical expenses (evacuation. etc.) and I would not want to pay six figures for some expense and then the company denies it, or other problems like that. Also, many hospitals mark up the bill by a tremendous amount if you're not in an insurance network. Denials due to anything deemed "preexisting," and so on, and so on... the possibilities are endless for being financially trapped and/or ruined by the US medical system. My wife's parents are elderly (late 60s/early 70s) and are relatively healthy but who knows, anything could happen.

I am willing and able to pay for good insurance, and I'm looking for a company that pays claims directly and doesn't unreasonably stall or deny claims. Can anybody recommend which companies are good, and/or which ones to stay away from?

I realize this topic has been addressed before but I am hoping to get information on specific companies, what to look for and what to watch out for. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

My wife and I are US citizens and we live in the Philippines, she is dual citizen. We are in the middle of the adoption process for our son. He is filipino and will continue to live with us in the Philippines.

Does anyone know the steps to give him US citizenship? He will not live in the US unless he decides after age 18.

I see N-600K, I-800A, I-800 forms but what is required since he will not live in the US? We will get a B2 visa if he needs to do an interview in the US.
