Hello everyone, my Fianc e and I have recently received our NOA2 (February 19th) We have not received any additional updates and our USCIS case number still only says Case Approved . Is this normal that it still has not been sent to the department of state? I know the physical NOA2 says that it was sent but I ve read that this usually isn t the case unless it updates on the case tracker? Does anyone know the next steps I can take or how long I will have to wait for a new update?

To sum up, I'm military, married my wife in Japan after I came back to states (so she unfortunately was not on my orders) , submitted K3 visa, approved and they moved in, submitted I-751A and I-751 For my wife and her son on Sept 30 2022. We are still waiting on response, the last item we did was to do Bio metrics (fingerprints) taken for the son on June 12, 2023. The USCIS website shows an average of 25-29 months based off of what branch office you select. I received an assignment to go back to Japan, I probably will not get my hard copy orders until September or October, with a report date of November. My question is, if we move to Japan, and my son (age 19) decides to stay and we fly off to the Land of the Rising Sun, will he be able to continue to live in the US under the I-751A? (if the conditions aren't removed by the time we leave...) My wife and son don't want to give up their citizenship, hence the visa. In Japan they are given until 21 for them to decide if they are going to stay a Japanese citizen or not. So we do not want him to rush things due to him living most of his life in Japan. Thanks for the advice.

I have a question regarding the surname of my fiance. On my USCIS petition, I put her mothers surname and fathers surname (Ortiz Hernandez). However the K1-FTP does not list her mother's name anywhere. We filled out the DS-160 and used her mother's name and her passport has her mother's name. We started the visa application and used her mother's name as well. 1) Is this something I should be concerned about? I know dual last names are common in the Philippines. 2) Is the visa appointment letter required to perform the medical exam at St Lukes?

Question regarding tax returns for the I-864 |

Hi and apologizes for starting another topic so soon after the one I just posted, I just felt this would be much easier to separate the two. So, I'm a disabled veteran receiving compensation and SSDI. I haven't been required to file a tax returns since about 2009, since according to the IRS I make no income. Going through the information about the I-864, I am definitely 125% above the Federal poverty line, even with two beneficiarys. Will not having tax returns hurt us? I also read there are certain tax codes/rules I can attach to this, which shows I am essentially excempt from filing taxes, which for all intents and purposes I make $0 income. I do have investments, which i haven't touched in years from family who passed away and i got into Bitcoin early, but I don't touch any of it. It was always a "set and forget" till retirement, which unfortunately came at a young age during the wars. Anyway, if anyone could possibly maybe ease my anxiety on this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
