Hello my friends. Im married to USC and on a fews days (march) finally I will have my CR1 visa interview at US Embassy. My wife is traveling to Panama to go with me for the interview. My concern is regarding 2024 taxes. We submitted my wifes I-864 and her latest taxes on Nov 2024 to NVC and where DQ on Dec 2024. My wife still hasn t done her 2024 taxes. We assume there are still not required because due day is April 15. Has anyone in here been to their visa interview at their local US embassy and have been asked for the 2024 USC taxes? thanks for the guidance.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 A new form edition was put out Dec 12, 2024. You can use the old one from Nov 09, 2023 until March 13, 2025. There are significant differences where the information is being asked for on the form however all very similar information. The biggest catch: Part 2 is about the person financially supporting the beneficiary and part 3 is about the beneficiary. This is opposite the way the form was previously from Nov 2023. Be sure to use the correct form edition even if your process is already begun. They decline a bunch of requests because the person didn't use the correct form. Don't forget to sign as well Any other updates we all should know about? Please share!

Has anyone changed their last name after marriage that were male and from a country other than the US? What does that process look like? My fiance and I have considered choosing a new last name that we can share. This process is easy in the US with two citizens however unsure the process for the other country and the US to change a last name for a male. Thank you for helpful guidance

Most of my family and friends have been very supportive however one important family member and one friend have not been. The politically climate in the US is sticky with judgement around anyone migrating here. Have you dealt with this? Recommendations? I never imagined I would experience this around something that is meant to bring family and friends together. Having finally found a person I want to spend my life with, I wanted to share that joy with people closest to me. It's a heartbreaking experience. I haven't told my fiance yet. Has anyone had to have that talk? Thanks for any support you can offer

My wife's USCIS account shows her naturalization interview is scheduled for early September and the letter was mailed July 30th. We moved July 24th (one county over) and made the change of address within the 10-day window. I established USPS mail forwarding weeks before our move and set the date to July 24th, and that appears to be functioning properly for other types of mail. However, the PDF version of her interview notice is showing the old address. The same scenario happened when we moved three years ago and it seemed like USPS mail forwarding caught everything except the USCIS notification. Fortunately, the previous tenant at that location was kind enough to give it to our previous landlord. Currently, I was able to get access to our previous mailbox via the leasing office, but found no USCIS letter. I am seeing online that some people are able to show up to the interview with a printed copy of the interview letter with no issues. My concern is that the letter shows our previous address. Has anyone experienced this same scenario? I searched the forums, but only found folks who printed the letter with their current address.
