Am I required to declare my husband's foreign income?

Hello!

I am currently working on filing my taxes for 2021. However, I am a little confused on whether I need to declare my now husband's income that he had in Norway prior to moving to America as a K1....He worked in Norway up until he moved here in July 2021. We got married in August 2021 and he received his green card in January 2022. Do I have to declare the income he made in Norway before he became a US legal resident in January 2022? Thanks for any help!

Acceptable translations and stamps?

I went to the county governor in my country today to get an apostille stamp on my documents for name change. They stamped the original document, but said I had to take the translated version to the local court to get it notary stamped.
At the court they said they couldn't stamp it because I had used an American firm to translate it (Rush translate, which saved me over $100 for one document).
The guy asked if I really needed it to be notary stamped, or if Rush translate could get it notarized in the states before sending it to me again. Right now it just has a ATA stamp and signature on it.
Does anyone know what will be accepted by NVC/Embassy? I want to make sure we have the right documents and stamps so we don't waste any time.

Hi there,

we are still in our CR1 journey, waiting for approval at the NVC, which according to the timeframe should be in March/April. My interview will be at the embassy in Sweden and there s about 4 months wait for that which puts my interview to around July/August.

I am still in medical school, and in order to finish that up here i am required to do a 1 year residency which would start September 1st 2022. I know that with the green card I shouldn t stay out of the US for more than 6months and a maximum of 1 year. During my residency i will have every 7th week off plus i would have 5 weeks of vacation time. Would traveling to the US every chance I get get me in trouble regarding the requirements of the stay? Waiting 6 months to activate the visa after it is issued will probably not be a preferable option since my husband has limited vacation time and i would want to go and see him before the 6months are up. My plan is obviously to move there, but i would like to be able to use my degree in the US as well since I have gone to school for 6 years for it. The whole process went quicker than expected and now we are trying to figure out all the logistics.

Does anyone have any input on this?

K1 visa first approved, then refused

Hello,

Let's start from the beginning.
My fianc (who is the USC) and I (I am from Norway) filed our K1 visa December 3rd 2020. August 2021 we were approved. December 9th I had to go to the US embassy in Stockholm, Sweden for my interview.
Everything was looking, and I had all my papers in order. My criminal record was not clean. I had a fine from January 2007 for admitting to have bought and smoked one user dose of marijuana during a vacation in Spain, December 2006. This was during an interview with the military here in Norway, where they asked me if I had every tried any drugs. I was honest and told them I tried marijuana once. I was 19 and didn't think much of it. They sent my interrogation papers to the police, and I got a fine. It should be said that during my stay in Spain, cannabis is decriminalized and I should not have agreed to that fine in the first place. Again, I did not know this at the time. Also I didn't think it would matter at any point since it was only a fine.
When I handed in the papers to the first person at the embassy, he asked me about the fine, I told him what it was, and he couldn't imagine this was going to be a problem. At the interview, the woman who interviewed me asked me about it as well, she kinda laughed at it, carried on and told me everything looked good. They were going to finalize the papers and ship everything back to me.
I left a happy man!
Hours later they requested my court orders for my fine, which I honestly didn't think exist. I contacted the police station the next day, got the documents I needed, got it translated and emailed it back two days after my interview. My interview took place on a Thursday. Following Tuesday I got an email saying my visa was refused.
Now we have to file a I-601 and wait even longer...

So for those of you who wonder if a small thing on your record matters, it does...

Hello! My husband s green card application was approved before his EAD. Do we need to withdraw his EAD application or anything?
