Has anyone else had issues with updating their AOS timeline? I tried to update my I485, I131 and I765 filing dates. Each time I enter in filing date and NOA date I receive an error message below. The only "work around" that i found is to remove the filing date and only enter the NOA date. But when i do that, the complete timeline does not show on my profile. Anyone else encounter this issue and found a fix?

Some dates may be entered incorrectly or out of order (ex: An NOA2 date before and NOA1 date). Time between when a petition (ex: I-129F) was mailed to the USCIS and the NOA1 (Notice of Receipt) may be too long. NOA1s (the date on the form itself) should be within eight weeks (max) of the date you originally sent the form to the USCIS.

A friend's mother came on visiting visa. She stayed due to COVID
Now the son who just got citizenship applied for the mother for a green card so she can stay permanently. The mother wants to go back home temporarily since she didn't really plan to stay at the get-go.

Can she go home with the application pending and not have it be void?

P.S. the mother has now technically overstayed her visit visa because of COVID. she was due to leave in April but borders were closed
