Hi everyone,

I am starting to get worried at this point, we have gotten to the last stage already NVC already approved all our documents and sent our case to the embassy in Lagos Nigeria, but because of the pandemic we haven t heard anything. Please is there anything we can do other than wait? Do I need to contact the NVC or anyone has any information to share. If you also going through the same thing please signify. Thank you

Please Sir,

I need someone who can assist or advice on steps to take regards family base I-485 and I-130 case because it s getting frustrating and depression is setting in.

The filling date was 08/22/2017. That was when the application was received at Illinois office.

Things started smooth, I got fingerprints notice which I did in Lubbock and I got my first EAD in November.

In March 2018 I was scheduled for interview which is to take place in April but the interview was canceled a week to the date in a mail saying it was was canceled for unforeseen circumstances and they are going to reschedule it soon. That is the last update I had on my case since 2018.

I called almost every month. They keep telling me it s pending background check.

I have contacted congress man and the response Was the same pending background check.

October 2019, 2 immigration officers came to our apartment and meet my wife, she called me to come from work because I worked very close to the Apartment. They interrogated us and take some couple of pictures also requested for original copy of my divorce paper and I gave them and They left with it.

Another Immigration came in March at the beginning of the Covid-19 and said she is sorry to come at that time, because they already assigned her to come before the COVID-19 started, I was at work and my wife wanted to call me but she said there is no need. They asked almost everything they asked us before and take pictures again.

I have contacted Ombudsman no positive response

I was advised to intact a lawyer and he suggested mandamus but he said this is not a good time to do that because of COVID-19.

Please can someone please help or advice on what next to do. This is really getting frustrating.

Any useful information or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, my interview has been scheduled and i have all my documents required for my interview ready apart from my Police certificate...The police certificate was issued back in February and i submitted to nvc in march but it states on it that it is only valid for 3 months whereas other countries' police certificates are valid for year and my interview at the US consulate in Lagos is next month...Do I need to request for a new police certificate or I can go with the one I already submitted to nvc which is already expired?

Currently at the NVC stage. We got a reply from NVC saying my wife doesn t meet the requirements to bring me the the states. She has been working since 2017 and this particular Job doesn t require her to file taxes. She makes. $58k yearly. Now our lawyer wants her to file for co-sponsor, when I know the minimum income to bring me there is $21,550k which she makes way more than. Before this feed back from NVC we explained and notarized a document stating why she doesn t file taxes. Sent her monthly payments . I am shocked at the moment . Because, just lawyer fees alone are soo expensive.. any advice please????
