Affidavit of Support related to change in Public Charge benefits |

I believe I understand correctly that a Lawful Permanent Resident who has been living in the US for more than five years and is eligible to receive SNAP (food stamps) benefits can now receive those benefits without the worry of having receipt of food stamps be an impediment to the approval of their application for Naturalization. Also, this individual also has a ten year old daughter who entered the US on a visa last month. I am the financial sponsor with an Affidavit of Support for both of them. My question is: "If the mother begins receiving Food Stamps for herself and her daughter am I, as the financial sponsor who signed the Affidavit of Support for both of them, potentially liable to have to repay the government for those food stamp benefits? Not sure it is relevant in which state the mother will be receiving food stamps; the mother and daughter are currently living in CA but are likely to move to Oregon. Thanks in advance for assistance on this topic.

Hello, I received an email from NVC telling me that there is an update of my Case F4 but When I logging in NVC website to check my case I SEE NO CHANGES AT ALL and I'm confuse about why did they sent me this message?? does ANYONE HAS HAD THIS SAME EXPERIENCE??? This is the email I received from NVC " The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://ceac.state.gov/IV. You will need your NVC case number and invoice ID number to log into your account. Once you have logged into CEAC, please look in your message box or on the Status Chart at the bottom of the page. If NVC has feedback on any items you submitted, there will be a new message with details. If not, please simply follow the updated instructions on your Status Chart to complete your case. If any column says "Pay Now", "Invalid Doc", "Incomplete", or "Re-Opened", that means you must take action by paying a fee, submitting a form, or uploading a corrected/missing document" PLEASE Thank you for your answer!!!

Hello - Does anyone have experience obtaining a police clearance certificate from Costa Rica while residing elsewhere? My fianc is Nicaraguan and lived in Costa Rica for three years after age 16. I am aware that, for his K-1 interview, he will need a police clearance letter from Costa Rica in addition to the one from Nicaragua. I contacted the Costa Rican consulate in Nicaragua to find out how to obtain it. I was informed that, while he can request it from the consulate, he will need to have someone in Costa Rica pick it up for him, but the issue is that he does not have anyone in Costa Rica who can do this for him. Has anyone had a similar experience and can offer advice on what to do in this case?

Time to receive receipt notice? |

Hello - how long is it taking to receive the receipt notice? USCIS received my I-129F packet on 03/09/2021 but I have not received the receipt notice and my credit card has not been charged. I add a large purchase notice to my credit card every two days to be overly cautious and ensure that it will not be declined. I remember that for other cases receipt notices were received within a couple of weeks; I would have thought that my credit card would have been charged by now. I know that I am probably just freaking out over nothing, but if anyone has submitted their petition recently, particularly within the past couple of months, have you received your receipt notice yet? Thanks so much I m advance!

Hello! I need to reschedule my fianc 's K1 interview at the embassy but when I log into ustraveldocs and go to the 'reschedule appointment' option, its say no appointments available. I emailed the email address on the embassy website but have not gotten a reply and am concerned given the appointment is set for the 19th of March and its already the 8th. I'd appreciate advice from people who have dealt with this in the past especially at the Managua embassy! Should I be worried? Is there someone else I can email or call? Thanks in advance!!!
