Hi, this is probably a very silly question but after searching I can't find the right answer so hopefully some of you wonderful people can help. I'm the petitioner, living abroad with my husband. I am a stay at home mother so no income. I have 2 joint sponsors which i've uploaded their I-864 and tax documents already. My question is when uploading my I-864 and tax documents - Do I upload my New Zealand tax statement saying zero income or do I add nothing because its not a US tax document? Thanks!

The steps require 2 notorized copies of identification documents. In NZ we have a notary public and a JP who both do notaries. One is free and the other is $100 per signature. Has anyone from NZ had to do this and whether a JP notary was acceptable? We are using a digitizing company as we are overseas and they request 2 notarised copies.

My husband has lived in two additional countries, both for less than 12 months. I am getting mixed feedback on whether or not to get a police certificate. I have read that if he lived in another country for 6 months or more, he needs one. I also read if he lived in another country for 12 months or more he needs one. One of the countries he lived in for less than 12 months is Canada and it is a ####### of a country to get police certificates from overseas! Or at least that is what we are finding. Can someone please point me to the appropriate documentation that addresses this? We are not at the NVC stage yet, but we are planning ahead because of the lag of services due to COVID-19.

2019 Tax Transcript |

What happens if you are not able to get the 2019 tax transcript? I am unable to get one online because I recently got a name change and the system is having trouble establishing my identity. I also mailed my tax return in February 2020 because for all of 2019, I worked aborad and was not able to e-file. I am sure the IRS has yet to process my 2019 paper tax return. Because my income for 2019 is all foreign, will this be an issue if I do not have a 2019 tax transcript? Can I use my foreign paystubs/income letter, and my tax return? Will a letter from my employer documenting my current employment and current paystubs be a substitute for this? I was able to get my 2018 and 2017 tax transcripts through the mail earlier this year, but that income does not reflect my current income which now exceeds the minimum income requirement. Just trying to get my documents together for NVC stage ahead of time since everything has signficantly slowed down.
