RFE for I-864 (appears generic? no specific requirements listed)

Hi, I've been using VisaJourney since mid 2023 and never felt the need to make an account until now, due to how detailed and useful the information posted on here has been to us (my wife and me) so far.

We've received an RFE for the I-864 we sent in with the I-485 AOS packet. There are no specifics listed and my wife (who is the petitioner and sponsor) makes more than is required when referring to the I-864p for a 2 person household. I'll include the "What You Need To Do" part of the RFE below.

Screenshots of the digital version

We included 6 months of pay stubs and her (the sponsors) 2023 IRS Tax Return Transcript.

A joint sponsor sadly is not an option.

I hope I have provided enough information for anyone looking at this to be able to help figure out what the missing piece of the puzzle is.

Does anyone have any advice on what to respond with?

Several questions regarding I-130 evidence uploads (merged topics)

Hi, we have a few questions on this. I'm writing this post as the USC petitioner.

  1. Marriage certificate, translation, and certification
    • should these three all be in one PDF, or three separate PDFs?
    • Is there a preferred format of the translated document? For example, should we make text boxes that replicate the text positioning on the original marriage certificate? Or take the original, and then paste text boxes with English over it?
  2. Additional Evidence - financial beneficiary on bank accounts
    • Separate PDFs for each bank's beneficiary confirmation page, or a single combined PDF?
  3. Additional Visual Evidence: we are mostly finished with a PowerPoint (for PDF export) containing ~100 chronological pages of (a) pictures of the two of us, with friends/family, etc.; (b) plane tickets, screenshots of hotel bookings, passport stamps; (c) greeting cards (e.g. birthday/valentines); proof of my (USC petitioner's) former residence in the beneficiary's country.
    • Should we also be uploading the screenshotted document-type items (b) as additional PDFs, or is just in the PowerPoint sufficient?
    • Some items here are in Dutch, such as a few greeting cards, my former Dutch residence card, etc. I am providing translations of these within the PowerPoint, but should I also upload these as separate documents so that each translation can be certified separately?
    • Example: on slides with a greeting card, the slide will have [picture of greeting card in Dutch] on the left and [English translation of greeting card] on the right. I did the same thing for my old residence permit/card as well, so far.
  4. USC Passport PDF
    • I'll be uploading this as my proof of citizenship. Per above, we took some snippets of my passport stamps for the Visual Evidence document. Should I also be including the full passport stamp pages? (i.e. beyond the ID page) Asking because I have a temporary visa in a foreign language that we'd rather not deal with translating since it doesn't add any benefit to the petition.
  5. 2x2 photos of petitioner and beneficiary. The instructions say to write names on the back of the photos.
    • Does this mean we need to (1) get physical passport photos, (2) write names on the back, and then (3) scan fronts/backs and upload as PDF? Rather than just uploading digital originals

Many thanks in advance!

Receiving the LPR Card after arriving in the US with an IR1/CR1

After arriving in the US on a IR1/CR1 visa you're supposed to receive the LPR Card (Green Card) within 90 days if you paid your immigrant fee. Is there any way to track the status of when USCIS produces the card? Or, when it is shipped through USPS do you get a tracking code?

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Groetjes, Linda.

Hey everybody,

after a joyful wedding we are now preparing our aos packet. As we all know the marvelous decision has been made to require all i-485 forms to have an I-693. Woohoo

Anyhow. I am trying to find a civil surgeon who a) does not try to scam me into a full medical and b) doesn t ask for 300-500 dollars for a bit of paperwork.

My question to everyone is: is this amount of money normal for this bit of paperwork? And: if it isn t, does anybody know a civil surgeon in the Orlando area who doesn t try to get you to do a full medical exam and/or make you pay full price?

don t get me wrong, if this is a normal price I m a-ok with it. I just want to make sure I m not getting conned :)
