We're applying for AOS through marriage. Given the current injunction against I-944, we want to send the package in as soon as possible. If we do not send in the I-693, - a) will my EAD application (I-765) be delayed?
- b) in case they send a RFE, any ideas on how much delay it will add?
- c) they are most likely to ask us to bring it to the interview, is that correct? or can they ask us to send it by mail before interview?

I have seen a lot of threads indicating that NOA2 expiration will be extended by the US Embassy or Consulate in 4 month increments up to one year. While I'm hopeful, I'm also realistic. Our NOA2 was approved in April. Between the potential for a 'second wave' over the winter, backlogs at the the US Embassies for spousal, student, and work visas (after 2021), I could easily see this process taking well into the summer of 2021. Is the "up to one year" a hard and fast rule? What happens if an interview can't be scheduled until after a year? Are we starting all over again?

Hi. I'm currently filing for my spouse to come to the states. I've been working overseas for the past 3 years. My current international job doesn't specify that we work overseas. We have our main office and that's it. When we travel, we just work on tourist visas even though we're not supposed to. Then we move to another country for another 3 months. If this is the case, is it okay to only put the main office? Or should I put every overseas address I've had?

I'm in the US on an F1 visa, about to get married and begin AOS. I have been filing taxes in the US using form 1040 with TurboTax, but I recently found out that as a non-resident alien I'm supposed to be filing using form 1040-NR (which TurboTax doesn't offer at all). I'm currently working on amending my latest tax returns (re-submitting with 1040-NR). In light of that, I have two questions: 1) Once I submit the amended tax returns, do I need to wait until they are processed to submit them with the AOS paperwork (as documentation for I-944, etc.)? Do I need to have a transcript or can I just send the tax returns and mention that they are being processed? If they do require a transcript, can I submit the tax returns now and the transcripts later? Or would that only delay things more? 2) Do I need to amend returns for all four years before submitting paperwork?

Hi all! I m new here. I m a 28 gay American from California. I ve been married for 10 months to my Moldovan husband. I did a 2 year service program and met him in the capital. We dated 3 months after I got there and dated ever since. We got married after my service July 2019. I then started working an international job within East Africa, so we became long and internationally distant. We see each other every 3-4 months and for major holidays, but it s still very tough. As of January, he s now working in the UK to earn money for the process. Due to COVID, I m now here with him teleworking. Here s our case. I started my job aug 2019. I ve been saving most of my paycheck since then. I now have about $15,000 saved. I believe I read that we need about $20,000 since it s only 2 of us. Correct me if I m wrong. It s supposed to %125 above the povertyguidelines of housing rate. I found a lawyer, but don t know entirely how much she ll charge as we haven t used her services yet. We re supposed to be starting the process in June, but I don t know the likelihood of it now. Plus,I m worried about the cost draining our process money even though we re still working. Am I just being paranoid? I also read that I need to have a home back in the states before the interview. I was hoping to have either a dorm or apartment as I m wanting to attend grad school fall 2021. If this doesn t count, I m not sure what to do because I live and work internationally. Anyway, my jobs contract ends in Aug 2021 if I decide to not stay with my job. My plan is to save as much money as possible from 2019-2021. Then return to grad school. I was hoping to have all my ducks in a row, a passed consular interview, and a visa for him by the time I left for school, so he could arrive with me. Doing a process while in grad school would be too stressful & exhausting, so I d like to complete it beforehand. p.s. I ve been trying to find a work from home job to earn more money for us. Does anyone have a similar experience? Any advice or suggestions. The future stresses me out so much and I m very much a planner.
