Joint sponsor proof of legal status has a different name

Hello all,

I am waiting for my case number from NVC however we have started looking into the Affidavit of Support documents.

My husband (USC) is petitioning me and the joint sponsor will be my father-in-law.

We are planning to file i-864 (husband) and i-864a (father-in-law), since they both live in the same house.

My MIL passed away years ago so there are no other household members.

The i-1864a says we need to provide proof of petitioner and joint sponsor's relationship. So we have my husband's birth certificate.

However the birth certificate, and my FIL's green card (proof of legal status) name are not exactly the same.

The GC has his middle name abbreviated and his second lastname, and the birth certificate has the full names but only one lastname.

i.e.

Husband birth certificate father's name: John Doe Smith

FIL's greencard name: John D. Smith-Secondlastname

Is this going to be an issue? Any differences in names in one document or another is a huge deal in Mexico, but I don't know about the USA.

My husband thinks it might be ok cause sometimes 'government doesn't have consistency'.

Any comments are appreciated.

Cuidad Juarez online appointment website functioning correctly?

The online interview scheduling tells me there are no appointments available and to try later. My husband was denied and I submitted new evidence. I just received a letter that he needs to schedule a second interview. I can see where they have opened it up for us on the website to do so, but it says Juarez has no appointments available and to try again later. I don t have experience with this since we received the appointment from them by email the first time. Does anybody know what this means and if it will actually open up at some point?

ive been googling cases on consulate appointments being expedited for various resons. im also in a few facebook groups for the cuidad jaurez consulate and people post about how they had theirs expedited. some on pregancy simply just pregnancy others high risk pregancies and medical reasons such as depression others financial harship..... i know its case by case bases and who is handling the request. we are all at thier mercy. my husbands I601A was approved monday after an 8 month wait every day i fear of him being detained etc. my question is could i possibly get expedited on financial hardship. i have a disiblity rating from a workplace injury from almost 10 yrs ago, but i do not draw disabilty my husband is the sole provider we have 3 young children a house payment, 2 car loans, minimal credit card debt and any drs appts and medicines we pay out of pocket .1 of our sons regular medicines is almost $500 a month...... if he was to be detained and or deported in the long wait time for an appt in CJ our savings would be gone very fast and i dont know what id do to provide for mylef and our children i know its a long shot just wondering if this could be grounds for appt expedite appoval . thanks in advance for your responses and god luck on all of your cases !!!!!!!!!

From Legal Entry to DACA to i130 to i485

Hello! Firstly, thank you for reading and for any help or advice that you can provide, its all greatly appreciated. I entered the US and was issued an i94 back in 2000 at the age of 5. I was enrolled in DACA coming out of high school in 2013 and started dating my then girlfriend in 2014 of which i first met in high school. We get married at the end of 2016 and file our I-130 immediately. In June of the next year we receive our notice stating that our I-130 is approved and are ready to file the I-485. For those thinking we should've filed concurrently back in 2016 at the time I was way less aware of what I could and could not do and so out of what we thought was being safe, filed I-130 by itself. At the same time I had also just renewed my DACA so we put the I-485 aside in our minds to just enjoy our life together which leads us to our current situation.

At the beginning of September we found an immigration lawyer to help us with the I-485 (I've been stressed looking up everything and when I found this community I realized perhaps we could have done it ourselves, whoops) and sent it out, its received Sept 12, we get our notification for biometrics appt 2 weeks later, and I just had my appt 2 days ago on Oct 1st with my filing status set to Fingerprint Review is Completed a day later. My questions are:

a) Are there any problems with having done the I-130 2 years before we file for the i-485?

b) At my biometrics appt they took my picture and just took my fingerprints from 2 fingers on one hand instead of multiple from both hands from my DACA appts, is that anything to worry about?

c) What can I be doing right now to prepare for what's to come?

d) My wife and me were long distance for a few years so I have photos of my flying out to her school in Oregon, she finished school a few years ago and we've been living together for a year now (we are Texas based) and are a real couple yet I'm still worried about coming off nervous at an interview, any advice?
